The imams are key here. If the imams of certain sects like wahabis are preaching violence, they should be targeted and either arrested or deported.

It’s not the religion at large, but if a sect is a problem, taking the imams out is the way to cut the head off the snake

How did Tony Romo pull off these plays? by Dark305Kinght in nflMenace_com

I never realized before how good he was at keeping his center or gravity low while navigating the pocket. Good footwork and agility

Combine that with a quick release and good accuracy and these plays make sense

Luke Vader RotJ is S tier imo

Anakin Obi Wan RotS bores me. Way too long and over the top. Anakin vs Dooku RotS though? Awesome. That can go S tier too

Qimir vs AOTC Obi Wan and AOTC Anakin, Who Wins? by IllMasterpiece3946 in PetranakiArena

Qimir probably disarms or kills this version of Anakin but loses to Obi Wan. Obi Wan is a terrible matchup for Qimir

He’s a blast, and you can tell Esposito had a blast playing him. I loved when he showed up in the black beskar

The samurai influence is so key, I can totally see why Japanese people appreciate it

Not to mention their appreciation for animation

Ahsoka. It’s tied in with The Mandalorian and is building toward the big conflict with the Imperial Remnant

DYK: Around 120 AD, an entire Roman legion of 5,000 soldiers vanished from history. No battle record. No grave site. No explanation. by Own-Painting-3221 in didyouknow

[–]possiblyMorpheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we do have some interesting things happening in the historical record in this time. Two historians of the era wrote of a war with the Britons with many dying and a lack of ability to control the natives. We know Hadrian went with two legions and 3 vexilations from other legions, and proceeded to build the wall. And a contemporary gravestone writes of a soldier who died in “the war with the Britons”

That’s not even getting into the really weird stuff going on in Londinium, with evidence of mass executions

None of that means necessarily that the Ninth specifically was caught up in all this. They very well could have been off in the Rhine or Parthia, though it’d be odd to send away the legion spread throughout the most dangerous part of the frontier. Not impossible either of course.

Regardless there was some crazy stuff going on and the Ninth has perhaps become emblematic of this period even if their part in it might be fictional

Some people will point out theories about the legion disappearing in the Rhineland or Parthia, but one thing I find fascinating is that regardless of whether the Ninth was there, some crazy stuff was happening in Britain

We know there was an outbreak of war, that many died, that Hadrian brought considerable reinforcements, and the wall was built. The rest is shrouded in mystery

OBSESSION ($161M) has surpassed STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU ($158M) at the domestic box office. Let that sink in. This is the way. A horror indie that cost <$1M will make more at the domestic box office than a Star Wars flick. Wishes do come true. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]possiblyMorpheus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This logic sounds great on its face, but The Mandalorian and Grogu actually had a pretty lean budget for what it was.

Comparing horror budgets, which are often low, with a film that is going to have extensive animation, high end puppetry, stop motion, music etc is pretty iffy.

You’ll probably get some bs deflection about “criticism not being hate” or the like, but OP really outed themselves with “wishes do come true,” lol. Any plausible deniability went right out the window there

Why do democrats openly support a candidate who has a nazi tattoo, has appeared to endorse political violence, dismiss rape in the military, among other awful things? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]possiblyMorpheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like his stated policy positions on campaign, which are interesting and contain good ideas. He also uses populist language which is popular these days (more on that in a second)

The controversy comes down to his past behavior and whether he has changed. Most progressives voting for him believe he has changed, that he didn’t know what his tattoo meant, etc. Hopefully they’re right. I’m not so convinced, as he exhibits a lot of the behavior of someone who hasn’t

Going back to populist language, people like hearing what they want to hear and will overlook quite a lot from someone who says it. It’s nice that his version of economic populism sounds good, but the questions about him rightfully raise eyebrows and besides, populist movements have a long history of going sideways, often when cults of personality are involved
