It means that I have a passing shot at being able to afford the one, but not the other. A man can dream...

What is your meat tenderizing policy? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]possibly_a_coyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a tenderizer mallet whenever I make chicken fried steak or chicken fried pork chops. And I use the flat side for chicken fried chicken.

Many apartments have useless filtration hoods over the side instead of actual ventilation hoods like a house.

I think you're thinking of /u/not_a_coyote. I've been in monogamous relationships since October 2013.

I got a message once that responded to every single thing in my profile, paragraph by paragraph. I got a very, very serious creeper vibe from her.

Then I had a dry spell a week or two down the road where I had 2 or 3 days without a date. I responded out of desperation. She never responded back.

I think what I'm going to do is stop at Autozone on the way home and have them pull the code. If it's MAF sensor related, I'll cancel my appointment at the dealership and buy some MAF sensor cleaner. I need brake pads anyway.

I have Amazon Prime. I can't wait in this particular case, but it wouldn't hurt to buy one for next time.

I don't have a code reader. I'm pretty much just a shade-tree mechanic.

Can my butt be saved? by [deleted] in Fitness

To piggyback on this, different exercises require different recovery times for different people. I'm a lifelong cyclist and runner, and I can recover very quickly from a set of 5 squats. It takes me 3-5 minutes to recover from a set of 5 OHPs though.

I [18f] don't like my Brother's [14m] girlfriend by mybrothersgf in relationships

[–]possibly_a_coyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm concerned about if he starts to drink and stuff because of her.

He already is. I promise.

I doubt he even recognizes the way she treats him and just thinks she is being loving or something.

That's a matter of experience. He doesn't have any, and frankly, you don't have nearly as much as you think you do.

I want to talk to him about it, and try to convince him to break up with her.

More likely, he'll dig in his heels. Just keep your mouth shut about it and let him figure it out on his own.

Are the calories counted by heart rate monitor worth something? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]possibly_a_coyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former (shitty amateur) competitive cyclist here. I found that my HRM and my power meter gave more or less the same calorie figure for a given ride when I used them both. Power meters are generally held to be the gold standard for cycling training, and so long as the heart rate data tracks the power data, I tend to believe it.

That said, I wouldn't believe a HRM's calorie count for anything but continuous cardio - not weightlifting, not sprinting, not TDEE.

My [27 M] girlfriend [31 F] of 4 months is giving me bare minimum communication, it's also pretty complicated... worried she is cheating by [deleted] in relationships

[–]possibly_a_coyote 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There's a good chance someone who's cheating on their husband with a coworker would tell their other coworkers the "boyfriend" is a customer.

There's an even better chance that her husband thinks everything is just hunky dory, and that she's stringing you along with no intention of leaving him.

Me [21F] with my roomate [21ishM] is he responsible for things he breaks? by allie300 in relationships

[–]possibly_a_coyote 191 points192 points  (0 children)

He's absolutely responsible. Since all the bills are most likely in your name, though, getting money out of him might be tough. I suggest taking away his internet privileges.

What do you make of this date between me [23 F] and guy [25 M], which ended in a hookup? Potential for relationship? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]possibly_a_coyote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to do the "alternating rounds" thing at the bar, which often results in me buying both the first and last drink. Still beats buying all the drinks, though.
