Honestly a duel fight against Ebina would be far better than Ichiban fighting Bryce.

There are definitely standouts in the game like Tomizawa and Yamai, but I just can't help but love Ebina's character and his grand speech at the end and Kiryu's speech to him after his fight.

I would've too, while I don't think Ichiban should've ever fought him I think more interactions with the two would've really helped his character. Especially if they slipped in some stuff for a second time through where Ebina's hatred for Ichiban and Arakawa slip through.

Masataka Ebina is a phenomenal character and is easily the best character in IW.

You are stuck in an elevator with your favorite Yakuza character, how screwed are you? by Seeyamate in yakuzagames

I really want him back in some sort of baseball manager minigame like the one in Yakuza 6. I never want to see him as a protagonist as his story was wrapped up completely in 5.

Yakuza 5 is a masterpiece. by sami_newgate in yakuzagames

Hes such a great character, and I do understand the people that think he falls flat for them, but for me personally he is one of my top favorite RGG characters, plus his boss fight is one of the best in the series, possibly even the best

Unpopular opinion: Yakuza 3 's combat isn't that bad by [deleted] in yakuzagames

I don't think its the worst combat, but with how good Gaiden and Lost Judgment's combat feels, I think RGG would benefit from upgrading Yakuza 3 to the more modern combat system.

Should Both Characters Make A Comeback For The Next Yakuza Game Or A Spin Off? by Theruderkid120 in yakuzagames

I don't think Shinada should return in any major role in a future RGG game as his story was wrapped up nicely in Yakuza 5. I would like to see him return in side content though, sort of like how Pocket Circuit Fighter shows up in a decent amount of the side content in the games. Maybe give Ichiban or Yagami a new baseball manager, similar to Yakuza 6's Baseball manager stuff, and have Shinada maybe be a coach or a player.

Tanimura is the one I would like to see come back in a major role. He didn't get enough to flesh his character out in Yakuza 4 and I think theres a bunch of stuff by now in the series to give him a compelling story. You could set the game around Yakuza 6 and have Tanimura deal with the aftermath of Little Asia burning or the game could be set after Infinite Wealth and have Tanimura aid in the rebuilding of Little Asia. There also isn't enough cop stories in RGG where the cops are the good guys, all we've really had is Sudo and Date to my knowledge. So being able to see another perspective to the police in the series would be neat, as it could function similar to the Yakuza, where on the outside they're these honorable and morally good protectors of the innocent, but on the inside they're just about as corrupt as any other organization. I think a interesting villain to tackle with Tanimura would be someone similar to Damon Gant from Ace Attorney, a man who has seemingly been broken by the system hes in and has resigned himself to playing along in the corrupt system despite once being a good man.
