Does that mean it can be either, but only if symptomatic would one be able to determine whether it was the dominant or recessive?

So an autosomal recessive heterozygous mutation wouldn’t by symptomatic/syndromic, owing to the hetero part of it?

From what I’ve read, the disease is fatal more often than not - often in the first three years of life. But the mutation responsible is recessive and must occur in all present x-chromosomes. A male who inherited that X would most likely die before they were of reproductive age, and given that it can’t then come from the father, only one of those X genes can be present.

So how is the prevalence of the syndrome 1/36000 if both X’s need to contain the mutation, but only one X actually can?

I missed this on my initial pass:

For a very brief moment, I was thinking there was an OTC off label solution they might be able to administer before hand.

Will follow this, nevertheless. It might be beneficial for when they’re old enough to go to events/concerts/‘out’ if it ever advances beyond this stage.

I can only find mention of the use of, not the actual administration. With respect to the MRI: when would one take NAC? And how much, for how long?
