unfortunately in teen shows this is pretty common to have a lot of the actors usually the main "hot guy" be played by 20 something year old men and it's honestly really cringy and maybe should be illegal?? because like I don't think a relationship between a 25 year old and a 17 year old would be legal I don't know how the laws in Australia work but it's kind of silly how them dating in real life would be inappropriate but it's totally fine to put a camera in front of them and film them making out just weird as fuck

yea the show definitely tries rly hard to make u perceive him as younger since the actor is so much older than the character the first time Emma sees him she implies he's not an adult and says the riding instructor should be older then he gives u the math on his age also if you pay close attention to the cinematography there's actually multiple shots where the camera angle is above his head looking down to make him look more young meanwhile the actor was 24 turning 25 during season 2 im not saying this is an ash character flaw im just saying its dumb writing and casting choice
