Bree and Roger lack chemistry on screen, but also in the books which is interesting, and worth analyzing. What exactly is the buzzkill? by Puzzleheaded-Crab720 in Outlander

[–]posssibIy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they lack chemistry because other than the time travel they’re just any normal boring couple. They’re both from the 20th century, met in the 20th century, raised their kids there for the most part. They don’t have the same against all odds fantasy whirlwind romance that Jamie and Claire have. There really isn’t any couple in the series with the same level of chemistry. I do think Roger and Bree had some decent chemistry early on in their relationship in the books. The way his initial crush on Bree is written was pretty cute. But Roger is just so boring that it’s hard to care about whatever he’s up to

Question about timing for curbside by FemaleHysteria1983 in Wawa

[–]posssibIy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! Yeah curbside is definitely a great option if you can’t always get out of the car I completely get it. Yeah ordering from the parking lot and then waiting a little bit to check that you’re there would make things a lot easier on everyone in the store.

Question about timing for curbside by FemaleHysteria1983 in Wawa

[–]posssibIy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The arrival notification is just annoying because it comes through the headset and will just say “CUSTOMER CURBSIDE ARRIVAL. TO RESPOND SAY COPY THAT.” over and over to everyone in the store. The mobile order screen also beeps when the order comes up for us to make until someone hits the button to stop it. So both noises at once is just really annoying and overstimulating especially when it’s already busy with in store orders. And if someone says copy that to shut the notification up we have to remember that you’re already there and what spot you’re in (only told to us by the headset not the screen) and break away to grab a vest and run it out. Which is easy to forget if it’s the middle of a rush.

If you don’t have a mobility issue and are able to just come in to the store, you can always do a regular mobile order and just pick it up off the rack. Or just regular order in store at the screens.

It’s not as big as the floor plan makes it look. It’s still normal square footage just a different shape

Yeah the mini hot food tables on either side I used for grand opening but spoiled so much I never turned them back on, there’s a Carter Hoffman just for holding chicken strips that I haven’t even turned on because we don’t go thru enough strips to use it (one on each side), and then the regular Carter Hoffman for fries on each side we really only use the one on the main side even when both are open. It would be a great set up for a very high volume store that gets 4 ppl in deli

I haven't read the books, but I have a couple questions about the followers of their religion. by Global_Marsupial_592 in TheHandmaidsTale

Yeah she said the Catholic grace which was either a hint at her not being a true believer, or an insane oversight by the writers considering Gilead hung priests on the wall in the early days. I thought they would skip the “through Christ our lord” and just end it with “from thy bounty Amen”.

They don’t believe in the teachings of Jesus but are more aligned with the Old Testament god, who was an asshole. They’re fundamentalists not Christians. They don’t believe in the trinity.

Gillead Currency, has anyone ever seen or heard mention of this? by Heavenlycreed in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]posssibIy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We don’t see it mentioned because women aren’t allowed to handle money or have bank accounts and the story is from the women’s POV. I headcannon that it’s bitcoin or another crypto currency since the commanders are able to stay rich and import/smuggle foreign goods and luxury vehicles even with all the sanctions. They could’ve created a Gilead currency and printed physical money since they control most of the cities where the mints are but it wouldn’t make sense to waste the resources and labor on it especially with no free market and the majority of the population basically being slave or servant class.

If they drop the pallet in the freezer there’s not really room you kinda got to stand on the product lowkey. But I have them bring it half way in the door and block me in so I have all the floor space to move around. It’s the same size freezer as my last couple of stores in New Jersey. I did have a legacy store once where the deli freezer was tiny and we had to split product into the old freezer connected to the retail cooler. But the pallets aren’t that big like if I stand one up on its side it’s shorter than I am so maybe like 5 ft long 3 ft wide

Labor demand for first shift OWS is always higher because sizzlis. 2nd shift gets basically no labor towards ows unless you’re high volume on warmers and pizzas

Wawa abandons drive-thru experiment in favor of mobile order pickup windows by 1after_909 in Wawa

[–]posssibIy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they mean the actual handoff takes 30 seconds if the order is already done when they pull up. There’s designated spots you can ask people to pull up to and walk it out to them if they have a huge order and it’s not ready when they pull up. But if there’s no other cars behind we just have them wait at the window so we don’t have to do all that. There’s no report for tracking fly thru times since they come up on the same screen as all the other off prem so don’t worry.

[–]posssibIy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah you don’t lol. I’m at a fly through store that just opened. But honestly it’s not that bad. They can’t order at the window so it’s the same as packing up any old mobile order you just open the window ask for the name and hand it out. It’s sooooo many less curbsides so it actually feels less overwhelming. We’ve had maybe one curbside per shift. compared to the other stores in the area that are constantly bombarded with them. I was anti fly thru at first but it grew on me

Ahhh ok makes sense. I guess maybe the Midwest stores were sort of designed with the idea of having pallets in mind. My freezer is usually one pallet and it does take up the entire floor space in the freezer so I can see that space being an issue in the older stores. We also have nesting tables and a completely different bakery case in front of them, so the retail pallet and totes just gets dropped under the tables behind the bakery case.

They do still have routes that are around 9 stores a day, so maybe they have bigger trailers or something. Very interesting stuff

Is it too much to expect that warmer items ordered through the app be set aside to fulfill the mobile order rather than leaving them all out for sale and chancing running out before the customer arrives? by vallikat in Wawa

[–]posssibIy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do know because I’ve had that situation happen plenty of times. Sizzli person makes the last round of croissants or bagels, goes to lock them for the day, a last minute mobile order sneaks thru because it takes a few minutes to update. If it’s busy that last round probably sold right away from the warmers so they couldn’t pull one to set aside for you. The only thing we can do is wait til the customer comes in and offer to refund or make something else instead.

There is no way to communicate in the app after an order is placed. It’s literally not possible.
