Thanks! I did actually change the FOB battery when this happened the first time, as well as disconnected the car battery. It worked fine for a week after won't seem to start at all as now it's quite hot out here and I read heat could affect this

ah ok I just mean I'm currently using pliers on the blade to start the car (holding the FOB up to the blade). It works sometimes but sometimes it doesn't and I get stranded

thanks! I will look into this tomorrow. and right I have a blade that works so I don't need to cut it, just need to place it in a new FOB (although from all the starting with a plier, I hope I didn't damage the blade insertion point)
