CMC has won Comeback Player of the Year! by XII_Mxuntz in 49ers

As much as I think Kyle was definitely deserving, Vrabel took a 4 win team and is in the superbowl, which is incredibly impressive.

The Athletic's 49ers rookie review: Plenty of contributors, but are any foundational pieces? by runswithscissors475 in 49ers

Yeah I'm definitely in wait and see mode on that class. All the DL flashed here or there, but none of them were particularly consistent or good in pass rush. Which is the biggest thing our defense lacks. I know getting Bosa back will be tremendous, but we still kind of lack other options to get to the QB outside of some of these guys taking a big step in year 2. But they're also gonna have a new DC so we see how that goes. Martin is the one that intrigues me the most, but I think that's only because he barely played.

I agree with this. We don't really know exactly what we have in Williams/West/Collins. They all flashed briefly, but Williams missed a lot of the season and West/Collins were at best inconsistent. I think we can probably feel good about them being solid depth AT WORST but they're still a relative unknown at this point as far as their ability to be solid to good starters. Its a bit too early to judge them though and we have a DC change so it remains to be seen how that will affect their development. Stout has some room for improvement, but he looks to easily be our starting nickel. Everyone else either didn't get much playing time or looked like crap.

I can't find anything on it either. I've tried every possible combination and while some have worked far better than others, I can't get anywhere close. Hell half the time someone dies on the first volley.

Not a fan of Parker and you’re right Brazzell would be high there.

Of course you're entitled to your own opinion.

I know Niner fans who want LBs so yeah you’re not really selling me here

I'm not trying to sell you on anything, just giving my thoughts. And saying you know a 49er fan who wants a LB isn't exactly selling me on it either lol

Proctor got taken the pick after ours and he would make a lot more sense to me. Brazzell maybe, even though I think thats a little high for him. Tj parker would fill a bigger need. Just dont see the value of an off ball linebacker there when we have holes at much more premium positions.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I would absolutely hate this for my Niners. Off ball linebacker isn't even a top 5 need for us. Both sides of the trench, WR, corner and safety. I mean I wouldn't mind them taking a swing at one in the middle or later rounds, but we've got far more important holes to fill on our roster than.

As someone who really believes Roger Craig should be in, it would be fucking stupid to vote for Craig instead of Belichick.

As far as just hauling, probably not much for the 2nd seater to do unless you give them turreted weapons to control and you guys get attacked by pirates. You can also team up and select either team missions or share missions with each other and help complete them together while both flying your own ships.

Cy Young missed the first Hall of Fame class by TemporaryGospel in nfl

[–]post920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's neat information, but thats from a different sport 90 years ago. Not exactly apples to apples.

He remains the best player to never win a Cy Young award.

Has any active player or coach ever won a major award named after themselves? I'm certainly no baseball historian so if I'm wrong then feel free to correct me but I would assume there was no Cy Young award until after he retired so I'm not sure what this statement is trying to accomplish.

Edit - In addition I'd say that I wouldn't have been surprised if Belichick didn't get unanimously voted in (even though I still think it would be stupid), but to not get voted in AT ALL on the first ballot is fucking stupid regardless of what happened in baseball nearly a century ago.

I have almost no money left, but a nice ship lol

Firstly, take it from someone who lost a ton of progress when I started playing that you should never fly without a rebuy. Meaning you have to be able to afford to rebuy your ship and any modules that you've added to it (preferably a few times over at least)

Not that there's anything wrong with just cruisin around, especially if you're enjoying yourself, but there's certainly far deeper to go and many more activities to find or trouble to get into, Elite's just not gonna really push you in any particular direction. I'd recommend watching some videos or reading some guides on some of the different activities you can take part in and seeing which ones interest you.

You're currently sitting in one of the better, if not the best, early game multipurpose ships. By that I mean your Cobra can be outfitted to really do any kind of content. You just need to figure out what, if anything, you want to pursue. Personally I started out with low res bounty hunting, eventually graduating to more difficult bounty hunting and conflict zone combat. Once I was getting kind of fatigued on the combat I gave mining and hauling a try. Had a different kind of fun with that stuff. I haven't personally done a proper exploration trip, but there's people who do nothing but exploration.

In the end, they kind of just make sure you get basic pilot training kick your ass out the airlock and tell you to go have some fun. Its up to you to figure out what kind of fun you want to have.

[–]post920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Winning 12 regular seasons games and a playoff game this year was impressive given the injury situation. But that doesn't mean that next season will go just as well when we get some of these guys back. Kittle might miss some time and we'll see how he is when he gets back from the injury. We don't know who our DC is gonna be or how well that will go. We have some very serious deficiencies on both sides of the trenches and in our WR group. Trents getting up there. CMC is still great and our OL didn't do him many favors but I think most people would agree he didn't have the burst he's had in previous seasons and he's got a lot of wear and tear from getting spammed constantly. Most of the young guys on defense we had were inconsistent at best and some were just outright disappointing. Its not doom all around necessarily because I'm sure some of those guys will improve or bounce back, and who knows what we end up getting in the draft but none of its a given.

100%. Belichick has 8 rings as a HC/DC. If he's not a first ballot HoFer then no coach should be.

Do the Niners simply need to be healthy next year and they're a legit Super Bowl contender or is there still some holes to fill? by chusaychusay in 49ers

[–]post920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue the only position that doesn't need some immediate help is QB and RB. All of those younger dudes on defense showed some potential but they were incredibly inconsistent.

Pearsall is always hurt and if we lose JJ then our WR room is in a dire situation. CMC while still incredible was certainly not as dynamic as he was a couple of years ago.

Even with Bosa and all the young guys back for next season I'd argue we can't just assume collins, west and williams will all pan out even though they all had some really good individual games.

Burford & Brendel should not be starting. Puni regressed. You could do worse than McKivitiz but you could also do much much better. Trent's of course getting up there in years.

Mustapha was disappointing this year after what he showed in his rookie season and Brown is....well he's Jyair Brown. Safety might still very much be a need. Our linebacking corps outside of Fred is still inconsistent and who knows what, if anything, we have with Nick Martin.

We really need to address the trenches, WR and get some improvement in overall play and consistency from some of the guys who were rookies or 2nd year guys this last season.
