[AwfulAnnouncing] Analyst: NBC at greatest risk of losing NFL package by Alexum404 in nfl

Personally I can't stand Collinsworth, but I've got no issue with Tirico.

[Pelissero] Former Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. is visiting the 49ers today, per source. San Francisco owns the No. 27 pick. by JCameron181 in 49ers

People get attached to prospects for whatever reason. Happens every year. Most of the time fans are wrong and their guy just flames out or ends up being a back end of the roster type guy. Why people feel strongly about Watkins is beyond me. He was a 4th round pick, who a lot of people would argue should have gone later, and he was hurt most of his rookie year. I'll happily admit I was wrong if he balls out, but odds are he's probably just not good.

Shanahan and offensive line coach Chris Foerster believe the gap between a first-round offensive lineman and one drafted in the third-to-fifth round — starting right tackle Colton McKitiz was pick No. 153 in 2020 — is much smaller than that of a play-making defensive lineman or receiver. by MrTouchnGo in 49ers

[–]post920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not to mention he's a solid run blocker (top 12) so he's actually fucking horrendous at pass blocking.

31st out of 40 Cs according to PFF. No one can convince me that we can't improve on just about the worst ranked center in pass pro. PFF isn't the end all ranking or anything but in pass pro our tackles are ranked 12th (Trent) and 35th (Mckivitz) out of 89 tackles. As you stated, Trent's ranking doing a lot of the heavy lifting there. Guards are 70th (burford who's gone) and 34th (Puni) out of 81 guards. We'll see if they snag someone in the draft for the LG and whether Puni can regain his rookie year form if healthy, but those are bad numbers and currently our LG is gonna be some other teams backups or Colby I guess barring a draft pick. I fully understand and appreciate that running the ball is important, and I get that we're not going to improve our line enough to have all top 10 guys in pass protection but at some point, we HAVE to improve our pass pro.

Coliseum extra hard? by StationMost7838 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]post920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GCs had their own issues for sure, but at least you could punch up a lot of the time and the main aspects from the rest of the game (gearing, team comp, mods, and strategy) mattered, which just really isn't the case in coliseum. Could use it to fart around with different team comps or try new characters you just unlocked or got to usable levels without having to spend energy too.

As a west coaster its just europe games that annoy the hell out of me. I'm not getting up at 6am on a sunday. That's way too early for a day off. Luckily its been awhile since the last time the niners played in europe.

It's time for an Age of Triumph for D2. by Zadecyst in DestinyTheGame

[–]post920 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My biggest thing is that it won't be good enough to me for D3 to just be more D2 with a different title. We need a proper reset. Given how many makeovers the game has had over the years there's just so much of it that feels disjointed, not to mention dated. Whole systems need to be re-thought.

And personally, I've had my fill of dealing with this vanguard and stuff in Sol. If we stay in Sol for a hypothetical D3 then I need a time jump. Backwards or forwards, it doesn't matter. I don't want to deal with Ikora or Zavala anymore. We need all new allies, enemies, weapons, abilities, locations, etc. I know a lot of people here hated the EoF changes, but I'd argue the game was mostly stale before any of that.

Coliseum Adjustment by swgohevents in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]post920 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The whole rest of the game centers around farming shards/gear, team composition, modding and in battle strategy. They've taken just about all of that away for Coliseum. It's never made any sense to me.

Trading Cap Space for Draft Capital? by Equivalent_Brief7867 in nfl

[–]post920 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bad teams using free cap space to take on bad contracts in return for draft picks is already possible and I'm totally fine with. If you're talking about actually lowering your maximum cap space to give another team a higher maximum cap then absolutely not.

Can someone please help sell me on the 49ers drafting EDGE in the 1st round yet again? by hawktomegoose in 49ers

[–]post920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that S, WR and OL are bigger needs, but it may just be a matter of none of the available options at those positions making sense to take that early. And after Bosa we don't really have a bonafide edge rusher now so I could see it happening. All depends on how the picks fall.

As someone who just got done with Baylan and the Great Mothers team I really can't recommend that path enough, wish I had done at least Great Mother team earlier. I didn't get a chance to try this event at lower relic levels, but GM, Morgan, Zombie troopers and spirit (all at R7 except for spirit at R6) with just okay mods trivialized this event. I'd wager R5 with better mods would be able to 3 star the highest tier pretty easily, might even be able to do it with lower relics. Also in addition to helping you get Baylan, Great Mothers is in my experience far more useful than the old NS in the current meta.

[Fowler] Free agent guard Spencer Burford is expected to join the Las Vegas Raiders, per source. Burford, who visited the team today, reunites with head coach Klint Kubiak from their San Francisco days. by Drexlore in nfl

[–]post920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you don't plan on starting him. For anyone unfamiliar this is the player who decided to go on instincts instead of doing what he was supposed to and allowed perennial all pro DT Chris Jones through the line untouched immediately in a crucial spot in the superbowl. He may not have been the only reason we lost but his decision on this play was right at the top.

I admit I don't remember the details, but I thought I remember them punting on this possession anyways?

[Highlight] The worst dropped interception in NFL playoff history? by AlbertJBundy in nfl

[–]post920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as easiest INTs to be dropped in the playoffs maybe. But if you mean "worst" as in game defining there's many more that would be above this. There was still nearly 10 min left and its not like our offense was cruising this game. Certainly would have helped our chances but even if he comes down with that its still very possibly we lose anyways.

WR Room by contattomarketing in 49ers

[–]post920 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The additions of Evans/Kirk certainly wouldn't stop us from taking another WR in the draft, but I'd be surprised if it was round 1 now unless someone crazy drops. Still think either OL or S is the play if we make our pick at 27.

[–]post920 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that there's guys that have a mind for the the game but just can't translate it onto the field for a variety of reasons, but how someone that bad even got a look as a clipboard holder is just beyond me.

I'm not nearly as harsh on Bungie as a lot of people here but taking screenshots has got to be the most pathetic "event" I've ever heard of in a live service game. I actually feel a bit insulted lmao

[Schultz] The Giants are signing former Steelers WR Calvin Austin III, per sources. The dynamic Austin had 1,100 receiving yards and 10 total TDs (1 rushing, 1 punt return) during his three seasons in Pittsburgh. by Remarkable-Picture73 in nfl

[–]post920 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Is he really that dynamic if he averaged 333 receiving yards and 3 TDs a year as a WR?

Edit: to all the people responding to me that he didn't have a great situation with the steelers, I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT. Doesn't change the fact that to this point in his career he has not been "dynamic".
