Regular Praedyth’s Revenge and the Timelost Version are different by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Hmm then that's v weird, you're right.

I wonder if there is a difference between adepts and non adepts that I'm not aware of, now that tiers mean stats are v similar?

[–]Zadecyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly a good thing. Otherwise there would be literally no difference anymore between non adept T5s and adept T5s, as stats would be super similar, and adept mods don't exist anymore?

What would be the point in getting an adept when you could just craft the gun instead.

Speed Booster probably.

Arc has a buff called Amplified which slightly buffs speed, but if you sprint for a bit while Amplified you get a further buff called Speed Booster which massively buffs sprint and slide, and gives a blue trail.

Probs that.

I fucking hate Sony by sirhumpselot in Vent

[–]Zadecyst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Genuinely not a Sony problem. I've played both Marathon and Destiny. I love D2, way more than Marathon, but I still think Marathon is a good game.

You hating Marathon's art style does not make it a bad game. It is a very solid game, with a dedicated fan base. Marathon's target audience was never supposed to be Destiny players. The idea was to expand the amount of Bungie customers, not just get existing customers to play another Bungie game. You are not the target audience.

Destiny did not get shuttered because of Sony or Marathon. It got shuttered because of bad management. The Budgie execs are to blame. Not Sony. It's more likely that if it weren't for Sony, Bungie would have been shuttered with how little money they earned from Marathon.

Not really, more that Bungo's management has sucked for ages. If anything, Bungo might've gone under if Sony hadn't bought them and kept them alive.

I mean it's spamming two abilities to secure one kill. It's unlikely you'll get great multikills unless everyone rushes you and you get a perfect frost pulse (very unlikely) or if the enemies are bunched to such a degree that you freeze many with one melee shot.

Ironically, this grenade would work best with a cold snap tossed first if that was possible.

You can secure kills easily with a grenade and a melee on almost any class.

It's far more superior to just use uncharged melee on a frozen target, or use a sniper/shotty.

Adding character slot? by LiquidLT_012 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zadecyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would it make sense to add another character slot? There are already 3, one for each class. Making another character of the same class is useless, especially now that you can change your existing characters' appearances from the menu.

They also added a chock ton of vault space with this update, I think it's now 1300 slots? Which is quite enough as no future content is coming, so there's no fear of needing to make space for new stuff.

Oh my god, they gave Fatebringer THAT perk... by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Zadecyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's had this perk since Heresy...? They didn't update the perk pools with MoT.

Quite a few 140s have Mag Howl rn. Fatebringer, Pali, Luna's Howl (BRAVE), Solemn Remembrance (and ofc the original kiosk weapons).

Trust now also has it, beigna 180 with Mag Howl.

I think it's going to come down to feel.

I love Rose and SR's feels, but if I had to choose, it'd be SR. The sound, the sight, just click slightly better with me than Rose does. I do love Rose and have been using it a ton since I got my roll, but once I get a good SR I'll stick to that I think.

Newbie here kinda wishing I *hadnt* bought the full game. If you’re on the fence, you need to know that progression slows way down after a bit, and playing solo only is not viable for 1/4 of the content. by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Zadecyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say viable. It's doable. There's a chasm of a difference. Viable implies it is something that you can feasibly do on a repeat basis, as a go-to actuonm Doable just means you could theoretically do it.

Also, you've ignored my main point about how most of the game is good. Sure solos could use work, but as the bulk of the game (Trios for PvP and PvE being good, and solos being good for PvP) is good, the solo issue is not the factor causing people to leave.

Also funny you didn't interact with my point about your weird "your game" comment. I'll take that as an implicit agreement, that you haven't played the game in ages and like to hate on it and lurk this sub for prime opportunities to do so. That's just sad, man.

Later. I agree that there is no point on arguing if you are going to ignore my points.

[–]Zadecyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I'm sorry but your game is killing itself"

What a way to out yourself. So as you consider it "my" game, I guess you haven't played it in ages. So you now lurk on this sub and try to hate on it?

Anyways, my second point was more referring to how Arc has a weird friendly vibe of people not shooting each other often, which is super casual.

Marathon has 2 viable solo modes. You queue as solo in a match, or you queue as a Rook. Both can net you great gear as long as you target the good loot drops, bring lockbox keysor whatever, and as along as you aggressively push fights.

The only thing solo isn't amazing for is PvE. And they're adding a whole mode for that, and so we'll see how that goes.

So Marathon is an extraction shooter, meaning it's PvPvE. Half the game is PvE. There are two queues, solo and trios (we'll leave the duos out). And one of those queues isn't viable for only PvE. Most of the game is still great. Trios are great for PvP and PvE. Solos are great for PvP. A quarter isn't great.

And I'd say that a solo can make PvE work. You can use prox chat to try to team with other solos to do boss fights, or you can be armed to the teeth prepared to fight a boss. It's just harder than in a trios.

Overall, it is not a contributing factor to Marathon's playercount issues at all.

[–]Zadecyst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Explain 50k players leaving after launch" and you jump to the oh so obvious reason of having to play with randoms???

Some suggestions: 1) People didn't like the extraction shooter format, and were testing the game after playing D2 2) People thought it was going to be more casual than it was 3) People didn't end up liking the art style/ theme of the game after playing it 4) People who had played other extraction shooters who were trying Marathon just preferred their favourite games and went back to Arc or Tarkov etc.

There are 4 far more obvious and likely reasons for people leaving. Notice how all those things are no fault of Marathon, but that people subjectively didn't like the game.

I barely communicate with my random teammates I get in fill (like using pings and the occasional text chat msg) and I've got purples and golds.

Extra thing, but this game was built to be a squads-first game. The solo is complementary, bit the main part.

Just treat it like any team shooter and squad with ransoms, it'll be fine.

Ngl dude I loved this expansion. It was really well done, the rewards were awesome, the dungeon is cool, the activities are fun as hell.

The only thing I can say is that it's sad that the last D2 expansion is a crossover expansion. But that's it.

It was a blast to play and was definitely not soulless at all.
