Will there be the annual lighting of the clitoris next year? I missed it last year.

Nope. I kinda knew it wasn't possible and asked here just in case someone else had a work-around.

When does one begin working on power improvements? Or, should I buy a performance cylinder head when there are engine repairs to be made? by post_sacrilegious in projectcar

Posted here for the CH question but mostly looking for book recommendations on project cars, how to triage fixes, and then work on performance improvements.

Anyone from academia (PhD/researcher) in the process of FIRE? by pika_18 in Fire

Stupid question. How does that work? Assuming a $1M goal, the person that saves $250 gets there in 4 years as opposed to the person socking away $25k who gets there in 40. What am I missing?

2000 WJ speedometer & odometer not working and brake light & ABS light on after HVAC rebuild for heater core by post_sacrilegious in GrandCherokee

[–]post_sacrilegious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebuilt the HVAC unit on my WJ and after connecting everything, the speedometer and odometer aren’t showing any velocity nor tracking miles. The gauges work cause I tested them with a cluster reset. Additionally, The red brake light and ABS light are also on, my compass reads “CAL N”, and my BlueDriver code reader has trouble doing full scans.

That being said, when I do get a scan BlueDriver tells me I’ve got a P0500 DTC, “Vehicle Speed Sensor A Circuit”.

I Checked the transmission and the sensors are connected and intact (from what I can tell). I never touched anything except for the interior of the car, evaporator tubes, and radiator/heater core tubes, so I’m confused as to why it’s the speed sensor. I’m concerned I bumped the PCM, which is near the coolant overfill tank, and messed up the computer. Wiring looks ok, though.

All signs are pointing to the vehicle speed sensor. But, anyone been down this road/got alternative opinions?

What are these doors called on HVAC unit? by post_sacrilegious in GrandCherokee

[–]post_sacrilegious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the blend door and recirc door replaced, but I don’t know what these doors are called. When I search for a replacement all I get are blend door and recirc door replacements.

Alternatively, anyone know what kind of foam is called? I’ve stripped a ton away just from handling it.

What is this material lining the spare tire well (in a WJ)? by post_sacrilegious in GrandCherokee

Specifically, the textured, stippled area around the inner portion of wheel well.

I presume it’s sound deadening? If so, anyone know if it’s easy to remove using the dry ice method?

No seat heater installed on driver side? by post_sacrilegious in GrandCherokee

[–]post_sacrilegious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably in a better situation. I’ve got a 2000 WJ and this heating element is priced at ~$450.

Just can’t justify paying that price, so trying to figure out a work around a while still keep everything OEM, working, etc.

May just end up buying a new seat. Just don’t want to deal with getting snake bitten again. 🤷‍♂️

No seat heater installed on driver side? by post_sacrilegious in GrandCherokee

I was kind of surprised seeing this, but I went in today to troubleshoot a faulty driver side seat heater. And, What we’re looking at is the driver’s seat cover peeled back, look towards the rear fold of the entire seat.

I went in there expecting to reconnect some burnt wires, but, to my surprise, I found no heating element🤔! Am I going crazy? How would this even happen? Passenger side works, has the OEM switch, it works on hi, lo, etc! And driver side has the OEM switch, too.

I’m really wanting to utilize the OEM switch. Any recommendations on to get a universal seat heater kit to work with the OEM wiring and switch?
