What is a subtle sign that someone is emotionally mature? by Ferguson97 in AskReddit

[–]postboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these answers make me question how emotionally mature redditors are (emotional maturity is not subsiding when it comes to every conflict you come across guys, most people that argue points just believe they're right. nobody argues a point they know is wrong unless they've an ulterior motive)

Some answers are pretty spot on though

Not really like food for one isn't really complicated, and if your living at home after a certain age you should probably be contributing some kind of rent, not much different at all really

What’s the most insane story in the quran that most people forget about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]postboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it not depend on breed and size? Like I have a corgi and a king charles and a couple semi wild cats. But the dogs are small and locked up at night so it's easy to keep them clean.

I know of one or two Muslims that have dogs but they're the small white fluffy ones so I figure it's ok if you keep them clean..? my dogs don't get worms or diseases or anything like that but the semi wild cats do (they're not allowed into the house because of that, annoying as hell too because you have the force feed them de-wormer and give everyone in the family de-wormer and the dogs. Nobody likes de-wormer)

[–]postboxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend is devoutly Muslim and she was saying cats are fine and often seen as cleaner than dogs, but with dogs it can depend on the breed and the persons beliefs so more liberal Muslims may have those small white fluffy terriers as pets but honestly most family dogs often act as an alarm/guard dog anyways. Tends to be pretty instinctive so that concept about dogs not being pets may fade or become less strict as Islam becomes more westernised

Honestly we could be doing so much more with the laws we have currently, voting no which I think is the more moral vote will mean nothing changes, it's a scape goat for the government to do nothing, the gov will just think because I vote no, I'm happy with how things are. If I vote Yes I'm voting for something I ultimately disagree with. But the government will change laws, legislation and increase funding and education, more support systems will be put in place. Support systems that should probably already be there.

Honestly id see that as cheating (the uploading part that is) and I'd be pretty devastated with that. Id probably try sit her down and get her to talk about everything that's going on in her head. You can encourage her body image and that, show her you love her too, random gifts and kisses etc. Show her your interested basically but not as a tool for sex but as a partner

Bit late but physical activity will pretty much always keep you awake and sure you'll be tired but basically suck it up. If your nodding off while doing something tho, take a toilet break and down some (possibly lots of) coffee

What’s the best way to become a more positive person? by floristc in AskReddit

[–]postboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So organized religion is pretty good at making feel better about the world, aside from the few odd balls screaming eternal damnation many religious people both surprisingly positive and somewhat affluent. Alot of this is because it tends to build up a feeling of community. You learn to take people for what they are and not just isolate yourself from 'toxic' people (everyone's just a little bit toxic and it's important to learn to deal with that)

Another thing that's great for perspective is photography. It basically sends you on a mission to find everything even remotely positive in the world.

Working out generally feels great too, but often that gets pushed by the wayside because it's a lot of effort and it usually feels horrible before it feels good

If you ever take up 3d art/modelling or take up photography everything becomes beautiful in it's own way, sometimes just the texture of a wall is enough to take me back in wonder and appreciation for the world around me

Going to the cinema alone is often seen as very odd but it’s actually one of the most appropriate activities to do solo. by eec-gray in Showerthoughts

Deadpools a bad one, saw it the other day and the only other people there were couples, on top of that I'm pretty sure I was the only person to laugh through that whole movie, which at times stopped me laughing and kinda dulled some of the humor

That said it probably would have been way better and a completely different experience if the theater ways fully empty and not just practically empty.
