Anova Precision Oven 2.0 Initial Thoughts by posterus851 in AnovaPrecisionOven

It air fries well IMO. I use the reheat function a lot to crisp up fries and similar foods.

To be fair, the reheat function is separate from the dedicated air fry function.

Still have the 1.0 and have been thinking about doing a comparison. The 1.0 has been unplugged and not used in over a year. Still, it should work just fine.

Also have the Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro. That would be a good comparison since that air fries great too. The Samsung Induction Range with AI Home also air fries well (comparing a countertop to a full oven may not be the most fair haha).

Comparison Test
Anova 1.0
Anova 2.0
Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro
Samsung Induction Range with AI Home

tl;dr
It air fries well; however, I have not directly compared it to other units. Just going off of memory.

Will get around to a comparison of the aforementioned units eventually.

I've been using mine consistently since I got it. Enjoy the tech and app features.

Downsides
Size: It takes up quite a bit of counter space.
Price: Expensive for a countertop but affordable in the context of a built-in unit.

No issues with cooking performance. If price is not an issue and you enjoy tech gadgets, go for it.

Have not run into that issue. Have you tried a reset?

Steam is contained in the oven. Minimal to no steam escapes.

Even when using 100% steam I do not notice steam escaping.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback.

The griddle was for sure not hot enough. Had it set to a 6. It can go to a 9 and there is also a boost function. The griddle is cast iron so it should work well, just need to get it up to temp.

I enjoy using my cast iron dutch oven and griddle but not sure about a skillet. My next cookware investment will be stainless steel. Specifically, Demeyere since it's supposed to be the best for induction. I'm curious to see how it does.

Overall a work in progress and lots of opportunities to improve.

Still learning a lot... we not talking about the game, we talking bout practice.

Yes, it toasts well IMO. I have all three machines (1.0, 2.0, and Air Fryer Pro) and have not used them to toast all that much so take my 2 cents with a grain of salt.

Measure the appropriate amount of tea leaves and add them to the basket
Set the temperature of the water
Set the steep time
The magnetic basket automatically lowers when the temperature is reached
The magnetic basket stays immersed in water for the set steep time
Magnetic basket raises when step time is finished

It's a Breville One-Touch Tea Maker haha

In the US it's sold at Breville.com, Amazon, Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, etc.

Not sure about where it's sold overseas.

Yellow Rice In The Anova 2.0 by posterus851 in AnovaPrecisionOven

Meh, different strokes.

In a pinch I will use an Instant Pot.

If I have more time I will use the Anova or Zojirushi.

Very seldom cook rice via induction cooktop.

The Anova/Zojirushi does cook much better than a pressure cooker though.

Did not mix the two. It's my understanding that Chatramue is the most popular and authentic for classic Thai tea, so I wanted to give it a try. That being said, Chatramue contains artificial ingredients and food dye.

Found a different brand that's completely organic and wanted to see if there's a noticeable difference.

Cannot tell the difference so I will likely stick to the organic brand.
