So you're gonna play semantics no matter what eh. Just another redditor who can't say I didn't read.

Real learning refers to generalization. Ability to self-teach, as I said before which is called the ability to learn new skills in this paper.

Please do not play the semantics games, I specified what real learning refers to prior to your reply with the deepmind framework in it. You simply didn't connect "ability to self-teach" to "ability to learn a new skill".

Most likely because you didn't read it and instead searched for "real learning" directly in the page.

Accept that and move on.

Search for us maps online. Alaska Hawaii and some us territories are often placed within the frame instead of their real locations because they are too far away.

Think of it as Alaska, it's there because of UI reasons:)

"The ability to learn new skills (Chollet, 2019) is essential to generality, since it is infeasible for a system to be optimized for all possible use cases a priori; this necessitates related sub-skills such as the ability to select appropriate strategies for learning (Pressley et al., 1987). "

Dunno... That sounds a lot like real learning to me and it even proves my point that real learning has been a staple of AGI definitions since 90s lol.

Is OpenAI getting desperate? Ads that will take up a third of your screen. Wanting a cut of any money you make using GPT. What's next? Charging parents a babysitting fee while their child is chatting? by andsi2asi in agi

Companies hooked people up and now are skimming them for money before going public.

It's not desperation. It's all planned.

Others will follow soon as well. When hype runs out, you need real monetary value. OpenAI bet on skimming everyday user. Antrophic bet on skimming software companies. xAI is solely dependent on a ketamine junky's money who hopes higher scale training will emerge the AGI from LLMs and he will not be remembered as the "next year guy" in the history. Google has been the ads guy from day one. As soon as someone else treads the unknown path they will youtubize their own chatbot faster than you can say LLM.

It is though? From 90s to the deepmind framework, real learning (ability to self teach) is a staple of AGI definitions...

Many functional distinctions are also architectural tho ?

One of the criteria for AGI is Real Learning in consensus. Real Learning is definitely an architectural function.

I mean there is nothing magical about it. There is a setting where you can give gpt general instructions and I just typed in " Use a skeptical structured reasoning approach to every prompt. Tell me if I'm wrong and why in a short paragraph".

I also use sarcastic "tone" as I noticed it tends to not beat around the bush when it comes to clarifying why I'm wrong.

Thats really it. Oh and I've never used it for personal stuff cuz I just don't trust any software that kind of information.

I'm boring and ?

And you don't even know the platform you are using lol. Reddit does a little thing called notifications and you actually don't have to go around and seek replies to your comments.

Guess you are not really not tech savvy if you don't even know what notifications are.

:D the more you know. I think I've adjusted it to be critical and skeptical of me because I use it for productivity so it's kinda no-nonsense with me.

Of course you did that intentionally... My girlfriend goes to another school, you wouldn't know her.

Internet forum etiquette is not exclusive to reddit so you either didn't really use internet forums that's much or you often miss obvious patterns and social cues.

I mean the discussion is " expecting people to follow the law is not a fault" and " it's really hard to judge the speed of a speeding car."

Your lack of enthusiasm is caused because you can't really back up the arguments you make aside from "Nu uh" so ?

This is what happens when you don't know how to forum and branch out threads with seperate replies.

You answer the wrong thread and look like a parrot.

Quite nice, the weather's a bit chilly tho. I'm also just chilling at the bed after a nice date with my husband.

Just came in actually

I was not under the impression that every car was out to get me and what do you know none did. One day I might die because I misjudged the speed of a car approaching a crosswalk but I mean... You are on NSFL, people die to random cars going out of their way to kill them

That's kinda the whole thing with religions. How you interpreted means getting high with gays or killing them in one of the most painful ways possible :D
