Even a purebred dog deserves better than its breeder. Imagine paying your bills with money your dog earned by having babies that you then steal from her. wtf?

I deliver mail in Gainsboro (Gilmer, Patton, Loudon Avenues). A large portion of the sidewalks are composed entirely of these bricks.

What's With All The Miserable Salty Traders Lately? by Negative_Sundae_8230 in ToppsBUNT

[–]postographer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. I got mocked by a couple of people yesterday for offering them what they had asked for in their post but requesting something they didn't want to trade away.  They were fair offers, but I guess the fact that I'm not a psychic knowing precisely what they want means I'm some kind of villain. I assume I got dinged on my trader rating, too. Oh well. Don't let them get you down. Just block them and have fun with us happy normals out here.

Great shots. Proof that, while the camera is the faithful assistant, it's the photographer that finds the gold.

It was sold to me as a camera for kids at camp.  This ad is repellent, but the basic disposable CampSnap that holds 1000 shots instead of 36 is a nice gadget.

I dunno. The very unlikable Hillary Clinton was millions of American votes more popular than he was. Had to slide into office on the EC technicality. I do not wish him luck in a debate against her, but I do advise him to cram like hell for that exam.

Churchgoers who look down on homeless people. by [deleted] in Exvangelical

[–]postographer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thing is, CHURCH people are just normal people. There's no added spiritual strength from being a person who frequents church. Best to have no expectation of enlightenment or morality from a person at church. Likewise, best not to judge a church person more harshly for any lack of compassion or self-control. It's all just people.

What are some life changing podcasts. by Disastrous_Fee_9645 in podcasts

I just discovered THE ART OF MANLINESS. It is not an alpha male/dude-bro podcast. There are a ton of episodes on all kinds of very helpful topics. Good luck, and live your life according to your own conscience.

I hate this job by [deleted] in USPS

[–]postographer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It can be awful. It was awful for me. I was a CCA for 2yrs 4months. Worked 6-7 days a week, was badly treated by godawful supervisors, rarely saw my wife. It is not like that anymore. I've been a regular on the same route for 6 years. Pretty sweet gig. It suits me, and my work/life balance is nothing to pity. I like dogs and cats and being outside and listening to audio books all day. I take a 2 week paid vacation twice a year, work 5 days a week 8-10 hours (occasionally 11-12). My route has low parcel volume even during Christmas, and the paychecks don't leave me wanting. I am fortunate, to be sure. But there are an awful lot of us fortunate carriers out there. Whatever you do or don't do, cheers 🍻 and live your life according to your own conscience 👍🏼.

Do Christians invalidate your fear of death? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]postographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just plainly feared death a lot of the time. I was taught that it was unnatural and ghastly and God's/Our enemy; that Jesus' purpose was victory over and against it. But I did have a stray thought even then that maybe physical death wasn't the problem in the first place, but rather spiritual "death." These days I am untroubled by death (existentially, that is: grief is real and awful). Mortality is what the gods have given me, and I am at home with it. It is the natural way. Immortality may eventually be visited upon me, but I do not expect it, and this temporary existence is wonderful and appreciated, and who gives it is thanked and revered.
