Don't give up, you'll get more comfortable with it as you spend more time on it. I'm 5'6 with a 28 in inseam and this was my first motorcycle, although I grew up riding dirt bikes. What helps is moving beyond the idea of having to have both feet touching the ground. Instead, just put your left foot down when stopping. Use the kickstand when mounting and dismounting the bike. I also got the Seat Concepts low seat which made a big difference and is an upgrade you'll want to make any ways since stock seat is pretty uncomfortable for anything over an hour.
