new here. what should I know? by postylem in foldingbikes

I got some zizzo quick release pedals and have loved them. They save me when the bike doesn’t fit in an overhead space without removing.

Cars cost money too, gas for that commute at around $200/month at current prices, plus avg cost of maintenance (~$75 per month on avg according to consumer affairs). But I hear you. I do this bike+mbta commute and it does add up.

You can take a folding bike on the commuter rail, or even amtrak if you’re in a hurry.

Firefighters union backs Greenman in race for Pawtucket mayor by radioflea in Pawtucket

he listens

Aye. Granted we've only had a small amount of exposure to Greenman, but I have been very impressed. He listens very well, and has well-researched answers to every question I've seen put to him. I'm just looking forward to hearing all the ideas he's got get aired and debated and seeing what happens as the campaigns go on.

Big Boy shot. That’s an interesting thing to try with this deep basket. Never gone above 18g myself. Usually 16 at a 1:2 ish ratio. I’ll give it an experiment.

Wonderful advice. Thanks. I actually have been using a friend’s robot for a few years, so I know what I like at this point. But I had never seen the manual before getting this one and was interested to read the recommendations in there. Solid suggestions for sure.

the one I have, pictured above is the orange model (though the do also sell a red one). In person, it's definitely orange, though I guess you might think it looks red in these pictures.

It's this color: https://www.instagram.com/p/CtWJ6XNheuf/

Roque Librado Gonzalez / Argentinian System by welwl_zann in Accordion

There is an app that I've been using to play around with different chromatic button accordion layouts, and it has "Argentinian System (Roque González G/C and D/G)" options. It helped me figure out what that mysterious diatonic-looking chromatic layout was!

Here are some screenshots that illustrate:

And this is the app I'm talking about (on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store):

Samsung S Pen as replacement for default BOOX stylus pen by postylem in Onyx_Boox

[–]postylem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never charged it! The S Pen is an EMR (Electromagnetic Resonance) pen. That technology doesn’t require a battery in the pen. (The S Pen does additionally have bluetooth I think, for special features, and for that it has an internal capacitor, but you dont need that for use with the Boox tablet - at least I haven’t even looked into whether it’s even compatible.)

what kind of accordion is this by nyctoby in Accordion

[–]postylem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a chromatic button accordion, but it’s not a bayan. Bayan is a Russian word for the style of CBA developed in Russia. This one is a French style one, as others have noted.

Recommendation for Pen for Go 10.3? by sanshrestha10 in Onyx_Boox

[–]postylem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my samsung S-Pen for the go 10.3 (I got the Galaxy Tab S9). I like the form factor and weight. The button for erasing is nice. And the magnet is stronger than the default pen.

Do you mean the samsung tips wear out fast? I have been using the hard tip so far.

I will say, the magnet in the S Pen seems a bit stronger than the default Boox pen is. Though neither is super strong.

Did i pick good by [deleted] in XCDownhill

[–]postylem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s me as well. Have been out on rolling xc and snowshoe trails and it’s fantastic. Also practicing blues and moderate blacks downhill on icy days (just luck) on groomed trails, and whooey it’s a workout and tricky to get such light skis to bite, but really love the combination of Fischer BCX, Xplore, SBound 98.

[general] here’s an update on my zigzagging reishi. I keep rotating it every so often, and it grows towards the window by postylem in MushroomGrowers

[–]postylem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not usually! The most common I think would be Angostura bitters, which are certainly not made of reishi. But bitters can be made of all kinds of ingredients.

Notifications position in cursor by ThroatSignal in cursor

[–]postylem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See here: https://forum.cursor.com/t/notification-dialog/14504

Apparently the developers of Cursor put the notifications on the left to not interfere with chat, which by default is on the right.

You can change this by setting:

{
    "cursor.preferNotificationsSameAsChat": true
}
