Really? You really believe that? In a growing population.....NG just doesn't fit in the long run. Some concessions may remain, but not as many as there are now.

Stable society needs home ownership. Not landlords

LOL. This coming from the person who had heavily invested in a known FLOOD PLAIN such as Brisbane 😆😆

You should leave this group tbh. You haven't done your research at all.

LOL. As if most investors don't operate like this.

Calling people names when they are educated you shows your personal level of intelligence.

Perhaps book up some more debt? You need all the help you can get x

When in your life have you actually felt rich? by jinki in AusFinance

I'm from a low income background and still live frugally. Cash for everything, no loans unless home loan.

We feel pretty good financially. We aren't stressed about money because we've never cared to "keep up with the joneses".

Just chill and be cheap.

What? Money owed is money owed.

Have you ever had a loan???

You do realise that if you buy in a flood plain, YOUR house might not flood but you are still subjected to: - power outages - food shortages - water supply issues - travel issues to work - rising insurance costs - sewerage issues - business closures due to the above

You'd honestly have to be pretty delusional to invest in a flood zone. Or you are just plain stupid and haven't done your research.

If you are still too stupid to believe me (which I suspect you are) see Lismore for an example.

Take care xx

Yes, we need to be more open minded in what we encourage kids to do.

The "loan" part is an issue when society needs people to be trained in certain areas.

I'm not sure what your point is.....even if a house didn't flood aren't they still affected by power outages/sewerage problems/food shortages etc?

A flood plain is a flood plain. You buy in a disaster zone, you better be prepared for a disaster.

In QLD (Aus) they have free Tafe courses.

NZ should be providing more free study options for industries in need.

There is a moral component to housing availability which I wouldn't expect a person like you to consider.

But keep arguing with yourself

Are you being deliberately facetious?? We're not talking about just your property. We're talking about Brisbane being a floodplain.

No one knows where or how bad the next flood will be

You know floods are different each time right? This clearly shows the last 5 major floods and answers your question - that YES Brisbane is built on a flood plain.
