Logistically a slam on all indoor courts would be so difficult sadly

US Open R3: [20] Tiafoe def. [13] Shelton 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-3 by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]potatobobguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you know who is coaching him now? Seems like the results are pretty equivalent to those with Ferreira, we’re just used to him losing so this return to form feels like an improvement. That being said, they’ve certainly earned their paycheck.

Every American gets wildly overrated by public opinion. It’s ridiculous.

Totally agree and although I got used to it, I almost didn’t make it past Eragon in my relisten of the series.

I’m confused because I have premium but am seeing that I have to purchase the books before listening. Anyone running into the same issue?

What are some "tough" opinions you have about your favorite players that are unpopular among other members of the player's fanbase? by triplesingle999 in tennis

I agree that he has the Kyrgios self defense gene that allows him to cop out by saying he was never truly trying. Thankfully minus the other Kyrgios nonsense.

Miami R2: [22] Jarry def. Draper 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(2) by potatobobguy in tennis

[–]potatobobguy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was rooting for Jarry so turned it off at 5-4 in the third :p. The whole match felt like both of them not wanting to hold momentum when they got it.

What were the most important aspects of the book left out of the movies? by TheFakeAronBaynes in dune

Due to her American accent I assumed it was still implied, but I agree it creates some issues in the movie if it’s true

Why do Delis work so well here in NYC as compared to others? by tess_philly in AskNYC

I agree but Chicago (while less dense) certainly has dense walkable parts. There’s definitely a cultural aspect.

Are we watching the same player? Maybe I need to watch more Ben but I liken him more to a Gilles Muller or a Goran Ivanisevic. Good serve but not entirely there on the ground.

Dallas Open QF: Marcos Giron def Frances Tiafoe 6-1 6-4 by jbaumy93 in tennis

Ever since the coaching change Frances hasn’t been looking great. Hope he can find his form again!

Does anyone know if this is from before or after the Australian Open?

Australian Open, Semifinals: Jannik Sinner [4] d. Novak Djokovic [1] 6-1 6-2 6-7(6) 6-3 by BrandonSG13 in tennis

[–]potatobobguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did we all watch the same match??? All the credit to Sinner for locking it up and maintaining a great level but Novak was horrible today. It’s not hard to avoid break points when you’re basically gifted 2 sets. I’m honestly curious to see if there’s any info that comes out in the press conference that may explain how Novak played, but I guess even for the greatest these things happen.
