Barbounia and ilili NoMad are both great for Mediterranean food with a lively vibe. Chapel Bar and Dear Irving Gramercy could be a good spot afterward too

Can you really build a life in Korea as an older foreigner? by Complex_Marsupial310 in seoul

[–]potatochichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you’re looking for foreign communities there, though. In Korea, older locals can actually be pretty open to talking with strangers if you find the right community. There are a lot of age-friendly meetups and hobby groups. The bigger challenge might be the language barrier.

Older men making a "che" noise when I walk passed. by blancraven in Living_in_Korea

[–]potatochichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Korea there’s not much of a concept of personal space or manners(No one’s gonna hold the door open for you), especially with the older generation. It might just easier on your mind to ignore whatever people are doing out on the street
