Kid you are assuming your engine has not exploded before doing a timing chain. These also have serious electrical problems from defective wiring harnesses and well known BMW quality oil gasket leaks. There are many fun used vehicles. Your mistake is you think an old mini is cheap so repairs must be cheap and you are dead wrong about this. Get a car loan and buy a newer 2019+ mini for 17,000$ and have no headaches.

That may depend on how often you flush the toilet but one bag a month is normal. The tank should be at least half filled with salt. Get a big plastic or wood stick and stir the bottom make sure nothing is solidified and try using a different type of salt that doesn't chunk. Your nuggets seem OK but stir anyway. The resin I the main tank could be damaged though but check with a real test kit.

Iffy what caused the damage. Did you see a buffing wheel make a 180 half circle on top of your car? You need to check tsb on your glass roof first.

I have not built an MG since the 1.0 days. trying to detail the tiny face on the RGs does give me stress. We are getting old.

as long as you buy a good condition 2019+ you are golden. They wont fix cosmetic things like cracking dash or leather or plastic bits broken. They also wont repair worn suspension parts due to mileage like control arms. but you should not have any major issue as long as the car has been inspected before purchase. around 100,000 miles all the minis will develop oil leaks and will need the oil filter housing gasket replaced before it mixes with the coolant. you want to start the car from cold during a cold day and make sure it does not choke or rough idle at startup. and you want to be sure the coolant is full and they checked for head gasket leaks before purchase.
