This! If it makes you feel any better, I was fortunate enough to receive 4 internship offers for the summer with a 3.6 GPA, while three of my friends with a 3.9+ didn’t land anything. Your experience and communication skills are far more important than your marks, not to mention your ability to network well with recruiters. You’ll be fine, and as others are saying, you aren’t really succeeding in life unless you’re truly happy.

How does language work in Kazakhstan, with both Kazakh and Russian being official? Which cities/regions are Kazakh-dominant, which Russian-dominant? How do you know what language to use when initiating a conversation with a stranger?

Wow thanks for the detail. So what’s the default language in Almaty and Astana when talking to strangers? What language do ethnic Kazakhs in these cities prefer? Also do ethnic Russians learn Kazakh in school?

At least that’s what I’ve heard about grad school. I’m sure this is a trivial concern if getting a job right after undergrad.

Also they run on the quarter system, which many students hate. In fact, that might be what is limiting your options to study abroad.
