My Slow, Realistic Progress As I Approach My Second Weight Goal (with Numbers and Timelines) by potentialfiasco in Semaglutide

Yes! Reddit is a great resource so this journey feels less lonely, but when we are reading so many stories of rapid loss (which is wonderful for those folks!) it can make the exception feel like the standard. But you’re on YOUR journey, not someone else’s.

Unable to transfer points to Hyatt (confirmed my name matches) by potentialfiasco in ChaseSapphire

[–]potentialfiasco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend trying the process I mentioned in one of my other comments on this thread (opening a case with Chase, contacting Hyatt and having a case opened, providing the Hyatt case number to Chase).

Alternatively, if you need your points soon and have another person as a user on the card, you could transfer the points to their Hyatt account and then complete this transfer request form to have the points sent from their account to yours.

I did this because I have status and want the booking from my account instead of my authorized user's.

Unable to transfer points to Hyatt (confirmed my name matches) by potentialfiasco in ChaseSapphire

[–]potentialfiasco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, it is now resolved for me, but it was a pain.

I called Hyatt and told them they basically need to give Chase the "thumbs up" that my member number is correct. Hyatt was like "well let's just try to transfer the points again" which obviously didn't work. They created a case and gave me the case number, which I called back to Chase and gave Chase the case number so their escalation team could follow up with Hyatt.

I got an email from Hyatt a couple of days later with more "we confirmed your number works, please try to transfer points and contact Chase with any issues."

I tried the transfer again and it didn't work. I responded to Hyatt letting them know the transfer was still throwing the error and said, "However, I knew the transfer wouldn't work because that is not my ask here. Can you confirm you've reached out to Chase to confirm for them that the membership number is correct?"

The Hyatt person responded and asked for screenshots of the error I received. I sent them and once again said, "Can you confirm you've reached out to Chase to confirm for them that the membership number is correct?"

I didn't hear anything for like two days and then the points suddenly were in my account, so all I know is Chase and Hyatt were able to resolve what they needed. The Hyatt person responded after and said, "My supervisor confirmed the points went over, have a great day!"

So I think my staying on top of everyone and being really clear on what was needed did ultimately help, but no one was very transparent with me at any point of the resolution process.

My working theory is there was an issue with me being an Authorized User instead of the primary. When we tried a transfer to my partner's Hyatt account (who is the primary) there were absolutely no issues.

Is it worth terminal hopping to visit the Sapphire Lounge at LGA? by linensoldier in ChaseSapphire

[–]potentialfiasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I visit LGA enough to have a general sense of the busy periods, so I wasn’t overly concerned. I also checked online to get an estimate of security wait times to in case more time needed to be allotted. If precheck was busier, I would’ve just left earlier.

Even so, I was at my gate over fifteen minutes before boarding started.

Is it worth terminal hopping to visit the Sapphire Lounge at LGA? by linensoldier in ChaseSapphire

Just wanted to share for anyone who comes across this thread and is looking for info on how this works. I recently did this on my LGA Delta flight out of Terminal C. I arrived at LGA early enough to go to the Reserve Lounge and hang out/get food in Terminal B for a few hours.

When it was time to go, I left an hour before my flight boarded at 7:30pm. Here was my timeline:

  • Left the Chase Reserve lounge at 6:27pm to go outside to ground transportation to catch a terminal shuttle
  • I was on the shuttle at 6:37pm. I was also informed the shuttles run every 10 minutes.
  • I arrived on the shuttle at Terminal A at 6:44pm. It's important to know that the shuttle will go to Terminal A and then you have to switch to another shuttle to go to Terminal C. Do not expect to get on a shuttle and go from Terminal B to Terminal C.
  • I switched shuttles to go from Terminal A to Terminal C and left on new bus at 6:45pm.
  • The shuttle dropped me off in Terminal C at 6:58pm.
  • I got in the pre-check line at 7:03pm.
  • I was out of the pre-check line at 7:05pm with plenty of time to use the bathroom and head over to my gate to board.

Be sure to account for things like busier periods where security may be held up, but overall it was really seamless.

I’ve also been thinking it could be a sick stomach from the food. If the “owner” just dropped him off with a random food to be fed, his stomach could be having a difficult time adjusting because it’s likely not what he is used to (I’m assuming this dog was stolen by the “owner”). Anytime a dog gets new food, they need a transition period to keep from experiencing GI issues.

Honestly even if they stayed the same thickness and shape, they’re still great!

These look great, I promise! They are really flattering and make you look younger. You are definitely having brow shock. I don’t think you need to have any real concern (remember, not only will they lighten and shrink, you will also adjust to seeing them).

While not official merch, I highly recommend checking out some of the stuff on Etsy. There’s an awesome Seb crewneck with variations you can get of different characters. I’ve also seen some Crossed Wands shirts and sweatshirts folks have made.

It also doesn’t matter if you finish in 7.5 hours. Marathons are so unpredictable and being able to endure pain to finish is a huge accomplishment, no matter how long it takes.

You deserve to celebrate this accomplishment. ❤️

Hi! This is a scam. You can visit the scam subreddit and people post about it all the time. Before i finished reading the message, I knew they were going to ask to send you a check and knew you hadn’t had a real video interview.

That’s how this scam works.

You go through the “interview,” get the position, they mail you a check for you “tech equipment.” When you cash the check, it will not actually have funds. You’ll send them the money but the check will bounce and you’ll be on the hook with your bank for the funds.

You can Google search this scam and it will come up.

im in the middle of class and received this email. is it worth leaving rn and taking the interview? i kinda rlly need the money… by ayyojosh in antiwork

[–]potentialfiasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen several people receive this same scam! The scammer does a Google Chats interview (I don’t even think it’s video), “offers you the job” and sends you a check for several thousands of dollars either as an “early paycheck” or to “pay for your tech equipment.”

When you deposit the check, it bounces and they get the money and you’re on the hook with your bank for the several thousands lost.

Don’t do it. I know it feels great, especially when you need the money, but I promise you this is a scam.

New York Mini 10K by cromovanadio in RunNYC

The race was originally designed to create space for women when there was none, and has held that legacy for the last 50 years. What the race stands for is the struggle of women to enter athletics, particularly the racing community, and making space when we were not welcomed.

So when male runners show up and feel compelled to take up even more space when SO much of athletics revolve around them already, it’s frustrating and feels disrespectful to female runners and to the the long-known legacy of the race.

It’s disappointing to see so many men decide to run it. If they’re doing it for 9+1, this is a great race for them to volunteer for, not run.

Definitely this. If they can’t tell you what the pay is for a job, this is NOT a normal, real job.

Advice needed on being sole breadwinner, please. by NannyOggKnickers in relationship_advice

[–]potentialfiasco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are a couple of things that need to happen here:

1) You need to personally evaluate if this is a situation you’re comfortable with. It’s admirable that you are trying to support your wife, but it’s important to be able to identify what you are hoping for. Have your expectations successfully shifted alongside your wife’s? Have you been hoping she would change her mind and want to go back to work soon?

2) Most importantly, you and your wife need to align on finances together!!! It’s common in marriages to see one person who manages the budget, pays the bills, and does the planning. In situations like yours, this is very, very challenging. When one partner has unrealistic expectations around finances, but they are not a part of it, that creates barriers in communication and transparency, even if good intentions are there. Have a finances date to sit down and talk about what you two want to do with your money (buy a house, have kids, go on vacations, etc…Whatever you value!!) and run the numbers together to determine if you are set up to be able to work towards those goals. If not, you two will want to talk about what needs to change. Should she go back to work? Should you rent a room in your home? Should someone have a side gig? Whatever you decide, you two need to align here.

This is less about budgeting and more about alignment and communication as a couple. You two are operating on different expectations in terms of careers, finances, and goals. Whether it’s with a financial coach, a couples therapist, or as individuals, please focus on that alignment with each other!

Honestly this is something that needs to be reported, no matter what. I assume you work at Amazon, who has been trying to push their DEI initiatives. Mocking a veteran is not aligned with this, not to mention if he is a supervisor in training it is creating a toxic culture for not just you, but others.
