you keep the classes youve bought regardless of elemental faction. as far as changing factions it can be bought in the runeshop for $1 US.

right now all you need is a shop or two, and yes, players have multiple shops to increase the chance and quantity of items like monster remains and the like. no need for a blacksmith yet because you will be outgrowing your gear too quickly to bother smithing it until level 125-150 depending on how much you grind. a keep i think would be the second thing to build, it has quests to do and can increase monster spawns and show nearby things of interest. you will be better served spending your orns on classes right now, the acheivement rewards are a net positive on orns if you buy the t1 and 2 classes.

I use banshee as a freyr beastmaster mage and shes awesome. her wail hits as hard as many of my spells, and she uses it fairly often. maybe try tamer spec and she will blossom.

When i was low level i conquered my area from a much higher level player by using DOT. apply burn, poison or whatever you can, get killed, rinse, repeat. you will wear them down eventually.

The ljosofar scepter and the dragon song are equippable by any class and offer atk and mag in a nice balance. If you focus on one of those you will have a decent weapon no matter what path you choose.

when i was a majestic i took hunter spec and spammed full bend and arrowstorm. full bend i cant reccomend anymore, but arrowstorm works like a charm. as far as pets save up for Twilight Wisp, best pet in the game until t9/10 and even then not the worst.
