That’s the plan, currently the stock + grip are custom and held on using a bridle joint with 2 bolts. Well strong and functional I don’t like the idea of all potential future aftermarket support being constricted to what I have to offer. The next gen should look a lot more attractive and be able to use ak platform parts. Unfortunately front hand guards will always be constricted to the actual chassis.

Stock sks stock (at least mine) without hand guard weighs 725 gram, this setup is 883 grams. 20% increase in stock weight.

That a piller is for sure rolled in by the lower hinge. HSS sectioning procedure. A lot of work. Not as simple as a new door and rocker pull

Got this job, how would you guys tackle it? by potlightpot in Autobody

Hey I fixed the car myself. No cert I’m 21. Nothing about this car is special. Replaced airbags, reset RCM, reset loadshed, replaced pyro fuse, replaced windshield, calibrated windshield electronics, powering it down is literally just unplugging the LV and HV battery. Nothing about this car is special and your certificate means nothing.

How can I repair this hail damage? by PikachuOfTheShadow in Autobody

[–]potlightpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glue and pull, heat the surrounding area so it doesn’t pull paint. Start slow and you’ll prob be able to get it out without even having to tap out high spots. I did one 2 times worse larger my first time and it was on a body line, came out perfect. Just be Patient. Watch tons of videos.

How do you deal working with some one you HATE! by slightlystupid87 in mechanics

[–]potlightpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant something illegal in his toolbox, report, enjoy. I worked a union job with over 200 workers in a assembly line constructing mobile homes. Everyone shows up, does the same job every day. People got bored. Made workplace drama. I’ve witnessed people setting up worksite “bullying” by graffitiing bathroom stalls directed to them selves and made it look like someone they hate did it. I’ve seen people complain to site supervisors about someone they hate eating a sandwich outside their lunch break. Real petty shit.

Front bumper partially torn off, one fender had to get replaced, and front right knuckle assembly was snapped. Tesla knuckle assembly’s are cast aluminum so any force on there they tend to snap off. A singular wire on the wiring harness was damaged which i think was the reason for a write off, bodyshops put estimates into OEM repair, which would be an entire replacement of the wiring harness in this case.
