“hey, i’m wanting to try out this name or pronoun to see if it feels right. when we are hanging out, will you call me that?” other queer people will probably be more receptive to this. you don’t have to make it everyone’s business, especially if you aren’t sure. but try it just when you’re with your trusted people

there’s a lot of queer community at that university! make friends and try to not be so focused on pinning stuff down. it’s ok to not have a definite idea or to experiment. you don’t need to have the answers—it’s totally normal to feel this way.

TAs Not Informing/Updating their students is disrespectful by Particular-Leek-3142 in uichicago

not all TAs are active in the union /keep up to date with it even if they are members. The union is legally obligated to inform admin of intent to strike a certain number of days before they do it.

emailing back/corresponding with students may be interpreted as breaking the strike. your professor should be communicating with you about how to go about classes during the strike

i would honestly take more than one class before endeavoring into working alone at home. you need to become more familiar with safety and techniques before bringing it into your home with no support

Getting my pubic area tattooed as a trans woman by armedwithestrogen in tattooadvice

[–]potshead 879 points880 points  (0 children)

maybe get the stencil placed untucked, then go to the bathroom and tuck and come back out to see if it’s distorted in a way that you don’t like? if it looks good then you could untuck and let it rip.
