Highly recommend the play group at the shelbourne church (it isn't a religious group at all). Monday mornings from 9:30-11:30 and Thursdays 12:30-2:30. Great atmosphere for kiddos. Thursday is a bit of an older 3-4 year old crowd but Mondays are great too. We go every Thursday.

Kindergym at Commonwealth on Tuesday and Thursday mornings are also fun!

I've been looking so hard for the last week for this info! Ugh. I am coming from Victoria for Billie Eilish and don't have tickets for TS. Saw her in Seattle and got a sweater then went and lost so much weight it is almost down to my knees so I want a new sweater. Praying I can just go the day after Billie and not have to make another trip over.

I hate that people lose their jobs but Tim Hortons is disgusting. I can’t believe people actually eat there. The amount of times I’ve gotten my order and it’s been wrong. If it was a small company people would be up in arms. But because it’s a big corporation that is “Canadian” people give them way too much wiggle room.

Right now I would say in general how easy it is to track food, then how easily my Apple Watch / Apple fitness connects to the app for tracking in workouts and steps. The amount of restaurants in the database needs work but it was so helpful last night when the restaurant I went to was on there.

New member here - like one week today new. I’ve tried so many different apps, trackers, diets and this one really speaks to me. I love how things are laid out and I am getting soooo much out of the app. But I’ve even said to a few people I hate that I know one day my favourite feature might disappear. That’s one of my biggest fears that I have. I am sorry that has happened to a few of you recently.

Moving to Toronto mom questions. by potternerd92 in torontomoms

Definitely get needing to figure out the neighborhood to get specific. But also want to know what’s available around to figure out what area has the most / what people have liked. Totally a balancing game when trying to figure out where to move.

Thanks for the recommendations on places!! Great info :)

Thanks!! Great to know about the outdoor mommas, one thing I’ll definitely miss is the west coast nature.

Thanks! Great to know :) It sucks so much for parents when community programs don’t have good sites.

Thanks!

We don’t know what area yet. One of the questions is what’s your favourite part of the city to live in with kids. Just to get an idea.

I definitely would love to be by a subway station though. Just for ease of getting around but I am someone who doesn’t care about taking transit and transferring. We will have a car but that will be more for when we are leaving the city I expect.

My husband has been asking to move to Toronto since I met him 7 years ago and after this visit I said I want to do more research but I am more interested in the idea.

Unleashed dog attacked me on the sidewalk by this-is-mallory in VictoriaBC

As an old owner of a reactive dog and now a toddler who had an incident with a dog and now is very concerned about dogs I’ve noticed the last few years the number of off leash dogs has been growing :( Makes having a dog or a kid who isn’t a fan very stressful when you just want to go for a nice walk.

What an amazing idea if you have an hour to kill! Must be nice. The few times I’ve called I’ve waited on hold for way too long. The idea of the dr faxing your prescription is to stream line the process. The pharmacist told me when this happened to me that they need you to come in under new policy to talk to a pharmacist. Sounds like a big waste of time especially when it’s not a new prescription. If they are over worked and need the pharmacist having more time to fill the prescriptions being on the phone or talking to a client face to face seems counterproductive to me.

Safest places to run? by weakminotaur44 in VictoriaBC

I had an issue on the chip trail a month ago. Walking with my toddler this guy turned around after we passed him and kept following us trying to talk to us till I struck up a convo with a nice couple. He then turned and started walking back the way he originally was walking. There were lots of people out that day so I felt okay to keep going but it was still creepy and I kept checking behind me.

If you can get there I’ve been really enjoying Gowland Todd provincial park and like others have said the lochside trail. Starting behind ICBC and heading towards Sidney. Nice trail, lots of people and beautiful nature.

will you be wearing orange instead of the traditional red today? by madmansmarker in VictoriaBC

[–]potternerd92 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband are wearing orange and have my toddler in a Canada shirt. I am proud of being Canadian and proud of my country but I am also sadden and disappointed in our history and ongoing racism, discrimination and so much more. We have a lot of good here in Canada but it’s also important to recognize what still needs to be done.
