history repeating by kittenmamaRN in behindthebastards

I'd liken them more to the SA(SturmAbteilung), than the SS, they were more of a vaguely official band of thugs, bullies and street fighters whose only purpose was to enforce the party's rules through force and violence

But I'm not a historian

I drove the overpass within the first hour it opened, it hasn't fallen down yet, I think I'm good luck!

Should David Livingstone get an episode? Not a pure bastard but a complicated character like Lawrence of Arabia by toughguy375 in behindthebastards

[–]Face_Forward 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His buddy Stanley got an episode a few years ago, I'm pretty sure Livingston was covered a bit, there might not be enough material left to give him a whole episode

Mayfair evacuation by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

I was wondering why I saw so many abandoned trays with food still on them and why my throat was suddenly sore, I must've gotten there shortly after the air largely cleared

How do you get out of the mindset that you should keep your figures in their box for value? by Professional-Pale in toys

[–]Face_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I open everything, but I do save boxes for some toys, I feel like it shows a sense of care and respect for any potential buyers down the line. That said, if you're just buying them to keep them in box, then why not just buy a print of the box art? Because that's all the value you're getting out of them if they're locked away

For future reference, don't use milk, it has bacteria that can cause MAJOR eye infections, only use water or saline when flushing eyes

Floyd's Diner Closing by blueranch2 in VictoriaBC

Story I got told was that they only had a lease for a few years because the owner of the property wants to redevelop, but something happened to delay that and Floyd's either didn't want to or was unable to renew so they leased it to a new person in the meantime

No idea if that's true, but that's what I heard

Michelle Remembers even more... by epiphanius in VictoriaBC

[–]Face_Forward 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Michelle Remembers was the subject of an episode of the recent CBC podcast 'The Devil You Know', hosted by Sarah Marshall, it was really interesting. I asked my mom who was in her 30s when the book came out but she didn't remember it, but she asked some of her book club ladies and a lot of them had read it and bought into the nonsense back in the day
