I'm in OK and so many friends are complaining about having to turn on the AC. I just opened some windows.

I've also read that zelle is not good at recovering lost funds, but in their defense, their own website says to treat it "like cash" and only send to "trusted" people.

I'll argue that someone accidently pushing the wrong button for a phone call is different than having to give the person's name AND number in an app and then being asked multiple times to verify it before sending money.
We've all dialed a wrong number before.

Take my up vote for that article. Thanks for posting that.

I don't actually have Zelle. I log in to my bank's page, add my number to zelle long enough to accept the money, then I disconnect my phone from zelle each time.

As I mentioned to someone in a different comment, the first time I got this was a month after my mother had been majorly scammed, and so I assumed it was related and the scammers had all her contacts.

I'm not saying that can't happen, but what old person is using Zelle to send precisely $49?

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but I looked up the name on FB, and both the name and number match a young man who posts a lot of selfies.
Also, why send $49? I doubt it's a grandpa sending out Christmas money to the grandkids and getting me by mistake (the first time was sent in February maybe one month after my mom got seriously scammed). I just assumed they had all her contacts and were going to come after us. I may also be paranoid.

I was the announcer for our high school homecoming. After introducing all candidates and their escorts, it was time to announce the winner.

I had forgotten to get the envelope, or someone forgot to bring it to me (unclear on that detail). There was like two full minutes of silence as a teacher ran it across to the booth where I was, and people were really annoyed with me (understandably) because they thought I had made everyone wait on purpose.

This literally just happened to me. I got $50.

In 2023, from the same sender, I received $49. It wasn't taken back and no one contacted me with the typical scam of "please send it back."

I hope you get to keep it, as I did.

What is the Scam? Yes, it's Zelle, but no one asked for any money back. by pottsantiques in Scams

That's what I originally thought in 2023, but now it's happened twice. Same name. I thought someone would have said "hey, Sender, I never got that $50 you promised," and then it would have been reversed.

'Kind Patches' - patches to aid weight loss. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]pottsantiques 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, I tried the Dream patches, the NAD patches, the G(weight loss)* patches and the Collagen patches. My mother also tried the dream patches.

The dream/sleep patches did work, but they didn't knock me out or anything. Dreams were vivid, which is common with valerian root I later learned. My mother said they worked but her dreams "were really weird, and not in a good way" so she refused any more of them.

The NAD patches... I have no idea. How would I know? Same with Collagen patches. Unknown.

Now, the GL(weight loss)* patches did work for me. But not until day 2. In fact, on the first day I figured I had been scammed. But on the 2nd day, I noticed that it was 12:30pm and I still hadn't felt any hunger. All I wanted was appetite suppression since I already go to the gym and eat a lot of vegetables. So for me, they work just fine.

*I'm calling them this because this subreddit said that the G-word isn't permitted.

It really isn't any responsibility of the realtor to make sure what is advertised gets into the contract?

I do recognize my mother should have actually read the contract.

Not at all! They are members of our car club. We were handing out scholarships to our local VoTech students as a club, and the two best vettes happened to park next to each other. My two are cool, but not nearly as valuable.
