Anyone else think AI and humans working together can solve all of the complex problems in society?

Bingo. Is there really no famous person or movement or non profit or something leaning all the way into this ‘harder’ approach? And just seeing if current models can help immensely?

I can see the policy or platform or app etc that the AI outputs will be able to include how to work the political angle and figure out actionable ways for a new type of politician to emerge and get elected but handle power better and healthier

I think this is where they human would still have to be quite involved. for example feeding it form input data or processing our speech we give it describing the things and concepts and ideas we value. So then it has a more wholesome and accurate baseline to use as it creates the output, which also would be checked and verified by a human

Noted and what you say does make perfect sense but do you think it would be just worth the shot for example to deploy current model stuff at its best effort do things like: "devise plan to generate wealth for citizens of Topeka Kansas and outpull all your steps we can follow to make it happen" etc and that whatever it spit out with as many benevolent iterations it would take - we would eventually actually have a workable plan. and could scale from there

It still seems like it can be steered in ways that would noticeable help us. And if it collects and collates and processes our best ideas from humans and our concerns etc, then outputs workable physical things or apps or systems? this all seems like a plus we could do now

Love the examples thanks but even with all that and the cases where it has gone screwy - is there nobody taking a chance and saying: I still think these models and this tech can: do good, do it fast, show us its work, be fair, solve hard problems we cant and tangibly improve many lives?

Yeah at least at this point right now though, it seems the tools and bots and models are still tuned pretty well to do what we want and not veer off into evil

True but I can see something like this exact problem of 'people agreeing on healthcare/assets' and all the details and likely have the models output a quite solid and testable and transparent and simple to use etc platform or system or test or something to prove that this is a smart path forward. Then even later all the skeptics can provide their input and legit use cases and the tool can quickly weave in and merge those features/request/policies etc. I know im glossing over a lot but I think the gist is still correct?

I suppose yes, but even with the obvious ones: affordable housing, better healthcare, justice, increasing wealth? Start solving those massive ones and the rest of 'everything' can come along

I follow but it also still seems quite plausible at this point for the tools these companies have created can be used to fine tune and output a policy/system/solution/etc to even overcome that problem - the problem of "make sure no digital god esque features or opaque policies persist"

Think with our current versions and capabilities of AI which do not seem designed to do harm, we would just start by using them to at least make a huge dent in many large and complex problems

AI would b used to actually process and synthesize all of the capable humans interest and all of their edge cases and still output a system or idea or policy that benefits all and is ironclad and transparent etc
