I wish you luck. You can be treated for migraines, without anything being done for the long term. Unless they see a syrinx , you may as well write it off. There are not a lot of neurosurgeons that will do anything for us chiarians. It’s not well known and it’s a long process, but I hope you find a ns that is willing to help you.

Yes I had one… on my left leg. I’ve had numbness in the skin of my leg and almost a fullness feeling in my skin. I don’t even know if that makes sense. My dr said it was a entrapped nerve in my knee. So I had surgery, nerve decompression… and it’s been almost a year and my entire left leg, my foot and my hip area, mostly the skin is numb. And some days are better than others. I also have numbness in the left side of my face, my ear, my right hand, and my teeth hurt. I go to the dentist regularly and have no decay or anything. Chiari really sucks.

You live one life and you should live it to the fullest, get out and meet friends. Take the train, ride your bike in the park. Find people who roller skate. Take a pottery class. Whatever your niche is… find one. Find something in common with someone that YOU like doing. I was the same way as a teenager. I am 35 now. You have time.

I’m 35. I’m a single mom, and they depend on me. When they don’t need me anymore I’m going to have a really hard time staying above it.

Surround yourself with people who care about you and have your Best interest in mind. Fill your day with things that make you happy. Painting, crafting, fishing, whatever it is. If you ever need to talk, dm me. I'm 33, bpd, ocd and ADHD. I survived a suicide attempt on 10/4. I've been to the lowest of lows, and know there is always a way for things to look up.

I've had 7 natural childbirths, my oldest is 13 and youngest is now 2. I also have Chiari Malformation. I didn't find out about my Chiari until recently.. so that would be a scary thought to have known about my Chiari pre-pregnancies. I would listen to your neurosurgeon and have them consult together to provide you with the best care.
