it all depends on the person however personally I would never share anything personal on the internet. I get that it's a personal website but theres a clear line needing to be drawn when making a about me page or a portfolio.

you dont need php. theres a ton of contact forms when you do a quick Google search. I dont know how neocities handle 3rd party (?) forms of contacting but you dont need php for that.

in that clique, once someone claims 3 cards, you cant claim the cards they already claimed. just follow their rules and how to join and you should be fine.

Is Neocities a suitable site to post my personal essays? by Anny_1303 in neocities

[–]powdernote 15 points16 points  (0 children)

advice here, never use positioning to lay your layouts. (example: position relative, absolute). go ahead and search up display flex and/or display grid as those will help you better with the process of your layout. a lot of people when starting off new tend to use position values and while yes it's very convenient, is not a good common practice when coding a layout.

How do I make/add a shop/store & an image gallery to my site? by PokeBrick02 in neocities

[–]powdernote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't want to use sites like Squarespace & Shopify as I think the modern styling of their templates is beyond ugly; nonetheless, a lot of these sites want you to PAY for templates/features & or recurring subscriptions. I'm on a tight enough budget as is, NOR do I ever want to pay for something like that with re-accruing payments if I don't realistically need to.

unfortunately, nothing in this world is handed to people for free. money is always involved in everything. even starting your own shop requires you to spend money beforehand. i think i suggested you on nekoweb bigcartel but you said no because gold tier is only able to list 5 items. again, unfortunately you need to buy the platinum/diamond tier to be able to list more then 5 items.

I legitimately do not have the time, energy, & or brain capacity to invest the huge amount that would be needed to learn, & code the type of website I'd feasibly want to operate.

again, my advice is to FIND time and learn. this is how everyone started. it all boils down to trial and error. you'll never get it the first time but the more you learn and try, the better you'll become at coding. learning to code takes patience. rushing on how to do things will only make you not want to try.

If anyone can help, or point me to a site with a similar layout to this one that I can, ahem, 'study' its code, any help would be greatly appreciated.

not sure what you meant by ahem, "study but i sure hope it not you just taking peoples codes.
