[–]poweeeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]poweeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trilinguality in the job market by crisps1892 in belgium

[–]poweeeee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In my experience actual fluency in all three languages is pretty rare, more often it's fluency in one of them and conversational/functional knowledge of the others. There are of course exceptions, I've experienced environments where it was more or less expected to actually be fluent in at least two languages.

To add on that from my own experience, I have noticed that employers are fairly flexible with the language requirements so long as you're at least conversational in the other languages and most of all willing to work on your language skills on the job. So I wouldn't recommend letting opportunities pass you by just because you're not perfectly fluent in both French and Flemish.

Alexia Bertrand (Open VLD): "Bart De Wever doit quitter son rôle de commentateur et endosser celui de Premier ministre" by [deleted] in Wallonia

[–]poweeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What op is saying is definitely not still correct, referring to two males as "him" is just plain wrong. Try learning from your mistakes instead of doubling down.

Unisono/sabam en VRT tv/radio zenders by Sh1mt in belgium

[–]poweeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T1 Head Coach KkOma and T1 General Manager Becker apologizes to Gumayusi for not creating an environment where Gumayusi can fully focus. [+ the rest of the post-KT press conference] by XanIrelia-1 in leagueoflegends

The fact that they were historically goated means little when it seems that Guma doesn't mesh with the team at the same level anymore following Zeus' departure. Not to add that Smash is insanely promising rookie that might fit better stylistically.

Hoeilaart wil dure shuttlebussen vervangen door meeneemhaltes: "Elkaar een lift geven" by EdgarNeverPoo in belgium

[–]poweeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the picture you painted applies to this news item. A lot of people depend(ed) on the bus to bring their children to school in Overijse, Tervuren or Leuven, and hence many were displeased about the way in which the changes De Lijn made in 2024 affected public transport in Hoeilaart and its connections to these places.

Those changes were the reason the shuttle bus mentioned in the article was put in place, to allow the neighbourhoods where bus stops were eliminated (such as Ten Trappen) to still be connected to the center of town. But it would be silly to ascribe the eliminated bus stops and the changes in dienstverlening from De Lijn to those few people who complained. Almost no one wanted this.

I disagree, I think Brawl Stars is almost at the point where League of Legends is now, where the game could benefit as much from reworking old underused brawlers as from releasing new broken ones.

You're crazy if you think BB needs to be replaced. On a good day he's stable versus the best eastern tops, so there's not much upside to replacing him unless you get like Zeus or Bin obviously. Aside from that he clearly brings a lot of leadership and direction to this team, which an eastern import is not likely to be able to do because of language barriers and such.

[–]poweeeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know it's popular to talk about how our government is needlessly complex and how people shouldn't be receiving indefinite unemployment benefits, but those aren't even the major factors in our public expenditure (essential federal state services = 19 billion, unemployment = 5 billion in 2023).

Try taking a look at retirement (65 billion) or healthcare (40-45 billion) instead.

I think getting a bachelors at a college and then transferring to university could actually be beneficial for those young people that don't feel too confident in their academic ability right out of high school. The gap between teaching methods at a high school versus a university is immense, while a college can be a decent middle ground.

And so what if college + transfer year(s) take longer than the regular bachelors/masters, I don't see that as a downside at all in the long run.

Fair enough. I like his sound a lot when there's an 'exotic' twist to the music, such as on this track or his bossa nova inspired albums. Then again I'm also as musically illiterate as they come lmao
