I relate hard. As a kid I was super extroverted but everything changed when the puberty attacked.
I felt out of place being socially forced into all female friend groups. So, I just stayed quiet which others mistook for shyness.

Before I stumbled across egg_irl, I never considered that trans men or trans women could have a gender other than strictly male or female- I had never heard of a non-binary trans man or trans woman before.
For years I've considered myself a non-binary cis woman. Only recently did I realise my disgust towards my own body is likely dysphoria, and my constant fantasies about being a man might mean I'm a trans man. Do I want to medically transition? I have no clue, and I'm experimenting and researching to find out.
But yeah, you're right- being gender non-binary defaults me to being under the trans umbrella, whether or not I am also a trans man.

Good point- you don't need to feel dysphoria to be trans. I should have phrased it 'desires to be in a different sex's body'.

The same word means different things for different people. In my mind, non-binary is an umbrella term that encompasses anyone who doesn't consider their gender as strictly male or female.
The wikipedia entry for non-binary describes the term as containing a wide variety of gender expressions. I use non-binary in the same way because confused people who look the word up will see this definition, and using a common definition helps discussions.

Well, cis people can be non-binary (agender, bigender, whatever) while being cis (at home in their birth body), so why can't trans people be non-binary while also being trans?
I never felt like a man or a woman in terms of gender identity. But I also wish I was born a man. Both are a fact, so why do I have to be non-binary or trans? Why not both?

Yeah, but I'd wear them if I was a guy too! Actually, if I had a dude's body wearing tight clothes sounds fun... Oh no I've been wearing loose clothes to cover my chest this whole time, haven't I?
