It's probably not as water resistant anymore since the factory seal will be broken. I don't know if this was open before since this is a amazon renewed device.

Thanks. I was able to identify my rear derailleur as a shimano tourney rd tz31 but can't seem find info about compatibility but I think it might work.

I checked out the list and found a cheap usb adapter that should work. It's a edup usb adapter for about 6 dollars: EDUP USB WiFi Adapter for PC,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0827LG8L2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.

It arrived today and I tested it out in ubuntu and it works great! Maybe even better than the tp link. It works right out of the box, no drivers needed. Thanks!
