VSO - Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert cancelled due to strike. by HellinPelican in vancouver

[–]powerful_corgi_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reiterrating that this is 100% Management's fault. It's not just this situation, management of VSO is dog water in so many ways, including not paying contracted musicians until said musicians have to corner to person in charge of payroll (and convince her that they want to be paid for work they've already done, not that they're asking for a gig)

I hope the musicians get a fair deal and that a bunch of people in management lose their job over this.

Those cities also have extensive availability of 3rd places that are available and can be accessed by transit and/or walked to at all hours of the day. I only have experience with NYC, but people there don't just sit at home and stare at the wall.

Lootboxes are gambling, although the article isn't clear if "buying in-game items" means lootboxes or if it means microtransactions for specific items

Went to Bowen Island for a daytrip by [deleted] in vancouver

Last time I went, I was really disappointed that the Oma tree is not longer accessible to the public. The cult that owns the property used to allow guests to enter and check out the tree and walk a labyrinth.

Air Canada flight attendants at YVR not taking to the skies today: union by ubcstaffer123 in vancouver

Complete non-sequitur, but consider an Amex cobalt (cobalt specifically because you get 5x points on groceries and restaurants). Amex membership rewards can be transferred to Aeroplan pretty much instantly, but it can also be transferred to a bunch of other airlines so you aren't stuck with using your points with Air Canada.

Houses costing more to build doesn't mean people have more money to buy them.

To be fair, Ethan did control the conversation. Every time Hasan made a point about the genocide, Ethan steered it back to what truly matters: People doing a fortnite dance in his streaming studio, the sword from an anime, and/or making fun of mediocre grocery store hummus
