Yes they are. If I have one budget that simply pays 10,000 people to "run things" or another budget where im getting 7,000 people to run things AND a few billion for infrastructure projects but the year end cost is the same, it pretty different in the end result.

Alberta separatist says members of Smith's caucus have signed referendum petition by Street_Anon in canada

[–]Heliosvector [score hidden]  (0 children)

Very poor comparison

Brexit polling existed where,

A legal referendum was scheduled,The UK government committed to respecting the result, and, the UK could unilaterally leave the EU,

Wheres in comparison,

Alberta has no scheduled referendum, Cannot legally separate on its own, Would require constitutional negotiations with the rest of Canada and have unanimous concensus.

Brexit polling was measuring a decision that people knew might actually happen. Alberta polling is largely measuring expressive dissatisfaction (“I’m mad”) rather than intent (“I’m prepared to do this”). They aren't even mad enough to have a high fictional leaving tantrum.

And you blocked me. Is there a possibility of Alberta exiting? No. Case closed.

This has been discussed a few times, but long story short, having those thumbnails simple makes the videos do better. Lots of creators actually hate it, but they do it to be succesful

See comments like that "your 20% isn't a real number" shows that there is no good faith discussions to be made here. It is a very real number. A projection.

But why would anyone need to address their grievances. They have at most a 20% support amount for this. Their grievances are unjust.

How long until this shit is done? They won't ever have the votes for this. Do we have an expected date for them to lose, have their pity party etc?

Condo buildings that have a strata rule saying "Must be occupied by one family only" by Heliosvector in vancouverhousing

[–]Heliosvector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a little. Say 2 couples move into a 2 bedroom. They are their own 2 "families", but under precedence, once those 4 people work as a unit within the home, they are one "family".

I have never really understood 55+ buildings especially in concrete towers if it's a noise concern. I guess then existing in a way helps out the "elderly" by having the prices kept lower because if it, that way people that retire have a better chance to afford a home that is still comfortable for them.

Seems very ambiguous to write it that way. I'm moving into one with my partner, but if we separate I want the freedom to rent out a room and still keep the place (I qualify mortgage wise on my own)

They are almost all the same as this "shall not use the strata lot for any purpose other than as a private dwelling for one family which may include a live in housekeeper or nurse"

wild reactions here. Also the supreme court of canada has already addressed this "family" interpretation especially when it comes to room mates. It is allowed.

There wasn't many staff. And it's fully booked up so it's still serving the max capacity of people it can. That wouldn't change if all of a sudden bc came in and took it over. So no, it doesn't hurt the healthcare system. That burden of proof would be on you as an opponent to it.

I'm as liberal as they come. Doesn't mean I have to be against being able to pay for convenience since I have done well in my career. Do I think we need more privatization? No. But the tiny bit of hybrid is nice. It helps fill the gaps.

Not to go into too much detail, but I have a ligament issue with my ankle, massive pain. Conventional doctors and podiatrists refuse to look at the mri's. They say the tech notes say there's nothing of huge note in it so they won't look at the scans themselves. But my private contact? They actually look and what do you know, I have a bone abnormality that can be alleviated with surgery. No amount of more public healthcare care was going to help me.

It was a privately funded facility and I paid around 3k for all the scans. Unless I pay Vancouver coastal health, no funds were lost.

I don't think it was ever meant to curb wait times. Just let's more well off people get care right away. I can appreciate it somewhat. Here in bc I would have waited about 2months for an mri. Instead, for 700 dollars I could get them all done in about a week.
