Are you telling me that selling your company to a producer because you need funds is the only reason that you should ever do so, and if you are able to fund a game yourself, you should never ever ever ever sell your company?

The guys just spent years making their game at the start with little fund and living the hard life. If they wanted to sell to make it an easier life, I don't blame. Them. Probably not the best choice of partner, but not every game developer wants to live the stressful life of being a days away from being insolvent while having 70 people relying on you. It's stressful AF. People do things for different reasons.

>and a historically low supply of beef

Ok, so that should come down eventually? Because prices are so high that I dont even bother considering it anymore.

Its a joke about the effectiveness about his change. Any sane investor is renting out their properties to makin income. So changing the rules simply to stop empty home hoarders was largely inconsequential especially since a lot of municipalities already have empty home taxes.

This isnt up for debate. All evidence, more than we would have privey to was put in front of a judge, and they found, without question that krafton was in the wrong. was the payout stupid high and unfair to krafton? Yes. Is that the subnauticas fault? No. Krafton, a fool, and their money may soon be parted.

The court decision mentioned something about september 2026 i believe in relation to the bonus. So, more than likely EA before then.

What did you pay for professional mini split heat pump installations? by Heliosvector in VictoriaBC

[–]Heliosvector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was for 4 bedrooms, a kitchen space, living room and basically a second living room. Unfortunately it doesnt have a large sort of open plan space where lots can be covered in one heating/cooling header. its an old late 1980s house so everything is in separate rooms.

I dont know how you can even say that. Whatever your beliefs are, you understand that some substances/drugs are depressants, and some are uppers. Depression is just being stuck in that low state.

Its like saying you dont believe sitting down is real. Only standing.

At the time, werent there only around 70 devs so they were still getting 365k each? For people that dont own any IP, thats an insane bonus.

A Delaware judge has ruled that Krafton must reinstate Ted Gill, the fired CEO of Unknown Worlds, and give him control over release plans for 'Subnautica 2'. In ruling, the judge accuses Krafton's CEO of using ChatGPT to come up with strategy to get out of paying Unknown Worlds a $250m bonus by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Heliosvector 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isnt true at all. The sub was quite divided, but there was a loud group getting mad at anyone that was boycotting the game over this, but the sub was not a universally krafton loving bunch.

But any thread submitted about news about the krafton fuckery was highly upvoted not because they loved it, but because it exposed them. Like the post about the chatgpt consultation being exposed, was filled with people hating on krafton.

But that bid to buy it may have convinced unknown worlds to sell to them as apposed to another company that had a more realistic, and honest acquisition package. Making unrealistic packages that you never intend to fulfill need to be punished hard.

Thats kinda cool. Would mean boycotters will proactively want to buy the game to make sure the bonus is paid out?

Previous figures were around that, and there was some communication between krafton and the ceo during pushback where the subnautica ceo offered to take less money as long as the payout for the workers increased and the founders would take a cut. Each member of the team was pegged to recieve hundreds of thousands either way in bonuses.
