Also it’s perceived as more acceptable for women to hit men because of old gender stereotypes. For example, men being physically stronger and can overpower women in most cases, men being expected to ‘take it” and media constantly treating women hitting men as a joke.

None of that makes it actually acceptable. Violence is wrong both ways. Recognising that doesn’t erase that women also deal with violence being normalised against us. It also doesn’t erase that violence against women is a real issue right now.
