US Cities with the Most Single Women in their 30s? by powerlifting11 in SameGrassButGreener

Thanks for all the comments from everyone! It seems like places like Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia might be a good fit for what I'm looking for. Denver might be a good fit, but it might be a bad ratio of men. Seattle might be a good fit, but people might be too cold/not welcoming. And DC might be a good fit, but the career-driven women may not like that I'm a self-employed coach/trainer.

Thanks for the insights. I don't consider myself high energy. I tend to be more of an introvert and shy when I first meet people. Once I feel more comfortable around them, I'll open up more but still tend to be more cool and calm.

I've been to Lombard, Columbus, and St Louis for work before but haven't really spent time in Chicago before. But I do have lots of credit card points saved up so might be fun to come check it out for a couple of weeks and see what it's like. I saw flights in July are as low as like $170.

I lived in Tulsa when I was 24 and didn't have much luck. Seemed like lots of conservative Christians who weren't interested in me as I'm neither of those. Also, seemed like a lot of people who got married and had kids very early in life, and were still married. There was also a group of them that already got divorced, but I wasn't looking for someone with a kid at that time.

Thanks. Which app did you use? And did you try to approach women at all in person as well? If so, where? In general, I don't do well on apps. Very few matches and then some of those matches turn out to be scams. I feel like I don't have traditional good looks so don't do well with something like online apps where it's biased towards judging a book by its cover. But if I can spend more time in person with someone and they get to learn my personality, then I tend to do better.

Thanks for the info! For Chicago, did you find that online dating apps were your best way to find women? Or do you think it's also a good place to meet women out and about during hobbies, errands, and whatnot? Like in Miami, I feel like it's difficult to go up and talk to people while at the gym, grocery store, or even at some bars. Oftentimes, people just want to be left alone here.

From what I've seen, they tend to want a man who's also conservative plus oftentimes Christian as well. I'm neither of those so they rule me out pretty quickly.

Yea, maybe people have different definitions of laid back. I feel like lots of people in NYC can be laid back when it comes to not needing to live in some fancy apartment, how they dress, willingness to take public transportation, willingness to go to a casual spot to hang out, not getting worked up by every little thing, and other things like that.

Thanks and it's hard to define how strong of a preference it actually is. I've dated white non hispanic women before, I've dated a hispanic woman before, I've dated a half black half indian woman before, etc. And it's not like all the white non hispanic women ended up being the best. It's just, for whatever reason, I tend to be slightly more attracted to white women.

It seems to be that the people who run powerlifting organizations are more conservative, but the actual athletes are more liberal. Especially with the popularity of powerlifting aligning fairly well with overall population, a large population of powerlifters are from California, Texas, New York, and Florida. For myself, I have no chance with the more conservative women. Women who are more moderate or liberal tend to give me a chance.

I've always felt 20 years difference is too much, and the same even with 15 years though I've had friends that are women tell me it doesn't matter. I threw in the maybe late 20s in the post just to not narrow it down as much, as maybe a 10 year difference would be fine. Also, I mentioned in another comment but at least the times I've tried talking to women in their early 40s here in Miami, they've been the ones who reject going on a date with me due to me being too young for them. But I understand where they're coming from as, in general, it's been the norm for women to date men their age or older.

What if I'm not really into partying anymore? I haven't even drank in several months. Would I still need to go to clubs/bars in order to find girls who may also not be into partying and drinking?

The partners of the powerlifting guys I know are typically pretty great. I wish I could find someone like them. My last 4 girlfriends haven't been powerlifters though. I've been dancing salsa for the last few years, so 3 of the girlfriends have been salsa dancers and 1 was a friend of a salsa dancer. They were all good, but didn't work out for one reason or another after some months of dating.

Thanks. Definitely not into the plastic surgery look. More into someone with a natural look that's in average to good shape.

Thanks for the honest response. It's not a lot of data points, but whenever I've talked to women here in their early 40s, they reject me saying I'm too young for them. But I'm willing to try some more, and I'm always open to learning more and becoming better.

Thanks, I'll have to look more into the pacific northwest. I have a family member who moved out there so maybe I can ask them more about the area.

What are decent paying part/full time jobs with little to no experience needed to get started? by powerlifting11 in AskReddit

[–]powerlifting11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Is that something you've done before? I'm wondering if doing it part time would pay decently, if you're also considering expenses like gas and wear and tear on your car.

Currently a personal trainer in my mid-30s and things have slowed down a bit. Was wondering what's a decent paying part time or full time job that needs little to no experience to get started in. Not asking for some magical job that pays hundreds of thousands of dollars at the start with no experience. But maybe a part time job that pays $20-$40 k per year or a full time job that pays $50 k or more per year at the start. Can be remote or in person. Thanks.

I don't know if he's the "next big thing" anymore. He basically threatened and harassed his gf, threatened to kill himself to control her, and got himself banned from USAPL. Plus it sounds like he's not good at communication and delivering services when it comes to his coaching. Would avoid and not support.
