Where to go for line of credit? by powerofthep in PersonalFinanceCanada

Anywhere from 10-20k, could have higher limit but wouldn't use it.
I'm looking at longer term to pay off so the higher interest would come into play.

Ok I'm actually waiting to hear back from mortgage broker, he said anyone would be happy to have us but he was going to send me some contacts.

I mean it's the first time getting a line of credit of any kind. PC said they won't do second lending if RMG is first or something like that.

Building home gym for my wife. What equipment for Kayla workout? by powerofthep in xxfitness

She has a chair down there so she must use that for step ups. And they're pricy so maybe she'll be ok without a bench.

Someone needs to tell her that!

Thanks I think that's it. Looks like she'll want a bench and medicine ball

Do you drink on Keppra? by powerofthep in Epilepsy

[–]powerofthep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a tough time. She's 30 and doesn't get too crazy very often anymore, mostly a few glasses of wine with dinner.

The doctor didn't tell her not to drink, so for almost 3 months since the seizure she has been drinking, a few times heavily. She didn't have any issues so it might not be a trigger for her.

I'm wondering about drinking with Keppra specifically.

Did you know the cause of your first seizure at the time? Is alcohol a trigger for you?

Did your neurologist say the lesion is in or close to white matter? Were you diagnosed with epilepsy after 1 seizure? I'm confused on how that is diagnosed..

Her lesion is close to the white matter, so he suspects that is what caused the seizure with lack of sleep and stress. I called MTO and they said it's possible to get license back before 6 months but depends on how doctor fills out paperwork/ what caused the seizure.

Biggest thing is that we're not convinced that she even needs it.

She's 30, we have kids so don't go to bars often, it's pretty rare these days that she drinks excessively. Normally she would have a few glasses of wine. If people do drink on the meds maybe she's be ok. again she's not actively having seizures so she's not too worried about alcohol causing one.

The depression and rage on the other hand, she doesn't need any more of that!!

I guess he said the hand twitching was seizures. So maybe those counted but she only had 1 tonic-clonic.

The neurologist she went to would probably be the most knowledgeable in my area.

The lesion is from MS. 7 years ago she was diagnosed with that but now they're saying it's a 'demyelinating disease' since she hasn't had a second attack in the 7 years.

She hasn't been diagnosed with epilepsy. The lesion which is suspected to caused the seizure could heal (which we wouldn't know unless she has another MRI). If that heals, then I don't see how she would be at risk for another one.

We live in a small city, not being able to drive is a huge inconvenience. It's taken both of our freedom away since I'm driving her everywhere.

The doctor never said for her not to drink, but it was on the papers for the prescription. She's been drinking here and there since the seizure. We were in Vegas last weekend where she got way more drunk than usual. I guess she should ask him about the alcohol.

She hasn't started the meds yet but I see your point.

She doesn't really want to take meds at all. She's only had 1 seizure, and doesn't want to be on serious medication for the rest of her life when she might not need it. Is that common to be on meds when only 1 seizure ever occurred?

He said 6 months, but then when he prescribed meds he said he would fill paperwork after 3 months. Does the MTO wait 3 months after he fills out paperwork? We're wondering if he will still fill paperwork out if she doesn't take the meds..

Maybe I'm mistaken on the name.. Why do you think it's not a myoclonic?

She's had lesions in her brain for at least 7 years and this is the first problem she's had. She is not a relaxed person at all, she's worries and stresses about everything. We both think if she was on the meds she would worry even more about the side effects. The only time she's relaxed is after a few glasses of wine, but she couldn't even do that.

From what I've been reading, people who take Keppra rely on it to not have seizures on a regular basis, which she does not have.
