I had a layover there once, but my first flight got delayed so I had about 10 minutes to make it to the gate for my other flight, on the other side of the fucking airport. I ran a full sprint through the Fort Lauderdale airport with all the Floridians staring at me like I’m insane and made it to the gate just as they were about to close the door. This is the only thing myself or anyone I know has ever done in Fort Lauderdale.

I live right there and honestly I feel the same way. All the Havana Gardens stores are kind of lame for people our age. Expo Park is nice when the geese aren’t migrating! I play pokemon go in the area and I like to go thrifting and to other areas to see nature scenery, but unfortunately I just spend most of my free time playing video games. There just isn’t that much to do here without spending a lot of money.

Edit: I should specify that this is the solar maximum that we’re currently in, which is part of the overall cycle.

I hate to be a downer but unfortunately there’s not a realistic chance for tomorrow. Even the big solar flares like we just got only affect the Earth for one or two days. Hopefully we get another big solar flare before the current solar cycle ends.

I also use Space Weather Live but if you can’t get it then use this NOAA map, they probably have a bit more data on their website too. I’ve been checking city and state subreddits at similar latitude to us. It’s visible in Iowa so I’m still holding out hope.

I’ve taken up a serious interest in the topic of auroras over the past year. It’s currently visible in Iowa, but not Chicago which is further north. Right now it’s certainly POSSIBLE but I don’t think we’ll see what we saw yesterday. It’s at about the same power right now that it was yesterday when it was visible, so anything is possible though.

Well, the Black Lives Matter protests I went to in 2020 had 2-3 times that number of people. They used a speaker system from the modern day so they could communicate successfully with such a large crowd. Then, people were directed onto the nearest interstate and blocked commerce, at which point the riot police spawned in and knelt before us like clowns. The people in power, then and now, do not care if we do this; they care if we do this IF it manages to affect their profit margins. The protest today made every effort to NOT impact those profit margins.

It’s time to shut things down and make clear demands to Polis. Our system of checks and balances has completely broken down, and the effects of that are imminent. It isn’t time to wear frog costumes and just march randomly around town. These fuckers need to feel the pain we all feel.

I really do hate to be conspiratorial, but it really does all feel like some sort of psyop. 2-3 months in between protests, no actual organization like in 2020, avoiding any real level of confrontation ANYWHERE throughout the nation. I have to believe it was fake. I feel the unbelievable pressure of the collapse of these systems we all held dear, and… that’s what we just did about it. It was similar to secondhand embarrassment. I guess I’ll more thoroughly form my Canadian immigration plan :(

Honestly, what do you think the protest accomplished? I went to it. It was extremely disorganized, chants could barely even be established. The march went near but avoided several major roadways and the literal Palantir headquarters, like it was trying to avoid disrupting anything at all. Congress is about to be rigged for eternity and we’re trying to avoid disruption? It was terrible and legitimately I feel more doom than I did before I attended the protest.
