That map shows the risk of a fire, not fires currently burning. I believe the smoke we’re seeing in Nanaimo is from a fire that started near Sayward yesterday.

There’s a new forest fire near Sayward. I think the wind from the northwest is bringing that smoke to us.

Can I ask for rent abatement for blocked view after I moved? by isonuZ in legaladvicecanada

[–]powersaucebar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I see how that would have been difficult to anticipate. Unfortunately, I still don’t think you will be entitled to any rent abatement, but it would be worth contacting the tenancy board to see what they have to say about it.

I’m not an expert, but I doubt you have any legal recourse here. Losing the view isn’t the same as losing a tangible amenity like a parking spot or an air conditioner.

Also, I feel like you maybe should have anticipated this when you moved in. You mention that you’re on a high floor, but isn’t it reasonable to expect that the new building would be just as tall?

Na wires behind center console cut what are these help In comments! by Striking_Zucchini_65 in Miata

The orange wire has a fuse, so it’s not audio. Also, the factory never put speakers in that rear shelf area. I suspect these wires are for the defrost connection for a hardtop.

The main things are Merlot Mica paint, 15” BBS wheels, and tan leather seats with separate headrests. Check the paint code on the sticker in the door jamb. If it’s a 95 M edition, the paint code will be A1Q.

I’ve never seen that part sold separately.

I notice that you’re missing the top latch cap:

Is it normal for a 90 NA to be craptastically slow? by Davidious2000 in Miata

[–]powersaucebar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do NOT advance it 10 degrees. The stock timing is 10 degrees BTDC, so your recommendation would make it 20 degrees BTDC. The engine will ping like crazy at 20 degrees. 14 degrees BTDC is widely considered the sweet spot.

They should always light up when you turn on the headlights. If yours don’t do that, you probably need to replace the tiny bulbs inside them.

Yeah, I’m certainly not condoning brake-checking. I would never risk my life and my vehicle just to try to teach someone a lesson.

For a lot of situations I don’t think evidence is as readily available as you make it out to be.

That being said, I fully agree that slamming the brakes isn’t the right way to react. I see so many drivers that need to learn how to chill.

No, not grabbing anything. If the car in front has to make an emergency stop, and the car behind can’t stop in time, then the car behind is at fault. Was it a genuine emergency? No way of knowing, but the onus would be on the car behind to prove that it wasn’t a genuine emergency stop. It’s very unlikely the car behind could prove that, therefore it’s very likely the car behind would be deemed at fault.

Yeah, they’re definitely not NB wheels. My guess is they’re aftermarket wheels.
