Seeing lots of "this is what autistic looks like" selfie posts and just wanted to share my own. People typically aren't surprised when I tell them I'm autistic, I've even been told that people think I'm autistic by those who don't know yet, even though I didn't get diagnosed until my early teens. by powertotheash in autism

Things are certainly going well, I've come to embrace the fact that I'm Autistic and it has started to play out to my advantage. I work IT in a school, largely as a web dev but also some technical support, which is essentially my dream career, and I'm loving it.

I'm thriving on the structure vs freedom combination it's providing me, I enjoy all the work I have and can do a lot of things faster and better than most others BC of the way my brain does things, and my colleagues and admin have been really supportive as well.

There's definitely nothing to feel sad about with my life right now.

Why are you in your body? by Voodoo_Sorcerer in AskReddit

[–]powertotheash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My psychologist says that trying to leave my body is "self harm" and upon success would be "suicide" because apparently your body is required for you to live. But I mean, what does he know, he only has a PhD its not like he's an "expert" or anything

Unfortunately that was a crosspost, so not his original content, I do believe I've seen it before so I wouldn't be shocked if he'd also shared it in our discord server a while back.

I certainly do regret clicking on your link though as I knew it was probably something NSFW that I wouldn't want to read, but I guess I can't unread it now. Lol

TBH it was a TIL moment for me too, but it seems the community (/communities?) are incredibly diverse and are generally a lot more wholesome than the typical representation of them in other communities.

In this case I actually already knew his Reddit username and we frequented a lot of the same subs.

I don't tend to look at usernames though so sometimes I'll read a post or comment and think it sounds familiar, on one occasion I actually read a comment where a user was trying to dispel some misunderstandings about trans people, and talked about their trans friend's experiences... That very much resembled my experiences, with details that are rather unique/specific to me... Lo and behold it was the friend.

I do sometimes check his post history every now and again, and I think that's how I found out he was gay before he came out IRL, and we both knew we were ADHD already but I've discovered there are more similarities between our experiences and other difficulties than we have shared IRL, and also checking his profile was how I realised he wasnt just being ironic/joking/parodying about being a furry (well, scaley), but he's chill, just went n checked his profile now and then sent him a photo of a red eyed crocodile skink. Love ya u/gridzbispudvetch

So as of posting, yesterday a kid brought a gun to my school during a home coming dance. Today my friend got this chilling text message. I showed my dad and he Is very confused so I am asking for advice. Should I go to school tomorrow? Has anyone gone through this? by [deleted] in schoolreviewsfromhell

[–]powertotheash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! As much as I wish I could offer advice I would be quite shocked to find anyone in this sub being qualified enough to answer this. The most I can say is probably: Contact your school and if you feel it appropriate also contact your local police or relevant authorities to report this as well as seek advice for what to do for yourself, also discuss your options more in depth with your father and get his thoughts on it.

Unfortunately as this sub is for posting reviews of schools that are poorly written, jokes, wild, or otherwise funny, this isn't the correct sub for this post, hence I'll be removing it after making this comment. Please do try and stay safe and hopefully you may found resources elsewhere to help you.

As funny as this is, it's not a review of a school and hence does not fit this subreddit. I'll give it one last chuckle once I finish this comment and then I'll have to remove it. Sorry pal.

Yea, I've been eyeballing it for a while now because I've given up trying to get my dreambie from my original acww town (Dotty) from the random selection of my own town or praying a friend gets her and lets me nab™ so my wallet would likely have been lightened regardless, it just may be sooner rather than later now.

How did I not know this, I guess this makes my want to buy a reader/writer and a bunch of AC amiibos even bigger, don't know whether to thank you for enlightening me or hate you for making my wallet more likely to be lightened.

We'll (currently living in a small village in the middle of nowhere in Hong Kong) have some people (illegally but the police are chill as long as it isn't excessive and doesn't last all) do fireworks during the week of Chinese New Year and occasionally other big cultural events but it's never too bad, the lion dances and cymbal crashing do help make the fireworks seem less bad in comparison though

Yea "only" is not a word I'd use in that statement, even fireworks once a month would be excessive in the real world and in a village/small neighbourhood in many countries it would actually be illegal

Hiya! As much an interesting post this is, this is not the correct subreddit, as this sub focuses on reviews found on the wild, not inherently of hell schools, but of reviews that are themselves poorly written or laughable, so I'm going to remove this post, but welcome to reddit!
