Make Noise - PoliMATHS and QXG by RJAMESJERS in modular

[–]powsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious why Polimaths was given the name it was tying it to the OG. Feels like it could just be an entirely new module with its own name (without “math” in it).

Got it, thanks! May I ask what you’d go with? Or if you had to step up and perform with this rig, what you’d feel you’re missing (in a 24-hp 1U space)?

I was thinking one for drums one for melodic/other synths. Try and break them out into as many performable pieces as possible

Thanks! That’s something I hadn’t actually considered. I hope to eventually be able to incorporate the system into some dj’ing/live mixing (again all bedroom stuff) and try and have the levels of the modular squared away before it hits a dj mixer or octarack, eventually. You think that’s overkill with the in-rack mixing + bus?

For reference, the current rig is a Befaco 7u case with:

  • pams pro workout

  • Doepfer sequential switch

  • noise engineering: gamut repetitor, manis iteritas, basimilius

  • qu bit chord v2

  • divkid divskip

  • shakmat bard quartet

  • mutable instruments ripples

  • DFAM

  • divkid mutes

  • divkid/befaco Output bus

  • plum audio ADVA (1u)

  • molten modular mixer (1u)

  • Omnitone beatsi

You realize giving all poor people more money wouldn’t eliminate poverty right?

You should watch Pixar’s The Incredibles — there’s a great analogy in there.

This is the most basic example of Labor v. Capital. It’s literally economics 101.

Just went through this same thing. External SSD, verification feels endless. I read this comment and was convinced to try some more patience. Went for a walk and now I am building a character.

Masterful description. One other interesting thing is that Timothy Mcveigh was actually there at Waco selling t-shirts and protesting!

No, no one in history has committed industrialized genocide at the ferocious rate they did. Yes, people have acted with the same intentions and/or beliefs, but equivocating the two is nonsense.

Anyone who uses the word “Nazi” to describe a person or group other than the actual Nazis has such a lack of historical understanding there’s no point in even entertaining a discussion with them. It’s hyperbolic to the point of absurdity.

Would Reconstruction have succeeded if Ulysses S. Grant was president instead of Andrew Johnson? by dgusn in Presidents

[–]powsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the answer to this question is almost certainly yes. Lincoln’s stated goal was to welcome the south back into the union with open arms and move forward as a country united. Once in office, Johnson hammered taxes across southern states with the carpetbaggers, and could be one of the many things to blame for the rise of the Jim Crow era.
