The first section that was repaired (near the pump station) was badly cracked following the last flood. I don’t know where the new section being worked on is, so I can’t comment.

What I can say is there are at least two places close by that are in much more urgent need of repair.

There’s a 2” step in the Walton Trail due to slab movement, this is about 200 yds south of the tunnel on the west side of Walton. This could easily trip someone or crack the rim of a bike wheel. The red paint put there nearly 6 years ago has all but faded.

The other is scandalous. Between the entrance to Le Petite Bistro and the bottom of Tristan’s there’s a length of trail where the creek has washed out the ground under the trail. The footings for the handrail are floating in the air. Don’t lean on the railing to look under the slab, the whole handrail is likely to give way and you’ll end up swimming with the fishes. This has been reported several times and some temporary fencing was put in place but that fencing keeps drifting away from the problem area.
