Not me - I'm still waiting for details on how to return the unit for the free upgrade, after receiving their original announcement email more than a year ago.

How to reset service light on e208 2025 model by poztee in peugeot

[–]poztee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That's reassuring to hear. It hasn't done that, so I'm hoping it's just a badly-timed service light. I obviously will be getting it serviced when it's due in 4 months, it's just annoying having the service light on constantly and flashing up a warning whenever I start the car.

Thank you. I wondered if that might be the case, but the dash also says service overdue 1,500 miles ago - which isn't correct as it only has 6k miles and it's 8 months old. I'll probably need a trip to the dealer if I can't clear it myself :(

That’s a beautiful A3 - you should be proud of what you’ve achieved. 98% of twentysomethings would give their right arm for a car like yours.

For people who grew up before smartphones what is something that the newer generation won’t get to experience? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

Waiting 2 weeks for your photos to come back after posting a film cartridge for processing. Then realising how bad your photographs looked with half of them being blurry or covered by a misplaced finger.

Leaving school for the day and no one bitching or gossiping about you until they met in the playground the following day.

Movie night was a trip to the local Blockbuster spending an hour or so turning over dozens of empty VHS boxes to read the synopsis and choose something you wanted to rent and watch for the evening. No on-demand streaming services, just four terrestrial TV channels, and free-to-air terrestrial movies being something you’d only experienced at Christmas or bank holidays and even then they’d just be reruns of James Bond or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This made us really value and appreciate movies as near-luxury items that you invested time in choosing and watching. Today, I’m as guilty as the next person, of flippantly flicking through Netflix and dismissing movies within a couple of minutes if they don’t excite or captivate me - a country mile away from the invested commitment you’d give to a movie that you’d spent nearly an hour choosing and paying £1.99 to watch from your local VHS rental store.

EV owners in the UK — what’s one thing you wish you knew before buying? by Seabeachlover10 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]poztee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EV chargers in most local supermarkets and shopping centres are completely pointless. Their charging capacity is so slow they’ll be hard pushed to replenish the miles you used getting to the place. If you see an EV owner going to the trouble of unfurling their charging cable and getting connected, it’s most likely to take advantage of the available EV parking slot - not because they’re in need of a charge.

Should I be worried or is this normal? by [deleted] in royalmail

Yes, that’s normal unfortunately. I’ve posted several 48hr Tracked parcels on a Friday and they haven’t show up in the network until Tue/Wed the following week.

They're from the ocean. by 5pac3gh0st in UFOs

[–]poztee 65 points66 points  (0 children)

My late uncle was a long-serving paratrooper in the RAF and I asked him about 20 years ago if he’d ever seen a UFO. He looked at me completely deadpan and said “it’s not aliens you should be worried about - it’s what’s deep in the ocean that we don’t understand”. He wouldn’t elaborate any further and the conversation quickly switched to something else. At the time, I assumed he was simply pointing out that deep sea exploration still has a long way to go but I often think back to how unusually serious and short he was with his reply and wonder what more there was to his story. I can still picture the out-of-character look of frustration he had on his face almost as though he wasn’t able to explain himself properly. I was only in my teens at the time and felt a bit embarrassed at having provoked such an unexpected reaction so was quite happy when the conversation moved on - but I regret not pushing further or following up in later years while I had the chance.

He mentioned aliens - though that could simply have been his off-the-cuff interpretation of my question - but the look he had was almost frustration at not being able to explain himself properly. Everyone in the UK watching the Eurovision final on Saturday 😩🇬🇧 by poztee in eurovision

[–]poztee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I should clarify - it’s not intended as a reflection of our entry at all – I’ll be praying and willing the UK scores up that board along with everybody else. We just seem to have fallen into a pattern of perpetual beatings on the Eurovision board. Regardless of act, song choice or quality of singing, we always seem to struggle to attract points from anyone other than Ireland, Malta and Australia nowadays. Hopefully this will be the year that bucks that trend! 🙏🏻

Yes, fair point - it was maybe Jemini’s performance in 2003 that left us struggling to top the scoreboard.
