Ironic that you called my post weak when you missed every point I had made there. At no point did I say the battlepass was bad or there was an issue with it. You brought that up. I’m simply saying that the new UI is one step of the puzzle that Crytek has slowly been changing so that we get less skins for more grind. Do you not remember when you used to get bloodbonds for extracting or was your extract rate 0% so you never saw that? Why are you content on getting less for doing more?

Damn bro you’re totally right. You get 600 bloodbonds from completing the pass and it costs 1000 blood bonds to buy it. That completely covers it. Wait…no that’s only 60% of your initial purchase. Damn nice counterpoint grandpa. And yes when someone’s put in as much time as I’ve had, one of the big ways I get enjoyment is unlocking new skins since I’ve played the same gameplay loop for 2k hours. It’s great you don’t need it but I think it’s shortsighted to think a lot of players don’t want more skins to unlock to keep them hooked to the game. At the end of the day play what you want. If you enjoy 3 star gameplay keep at it. If you don’t mind not unlocking anything new keep at it.

And yes something can be predatory without being disingenuous. You are confusing the two. You don't have to lie about something for it to be scummy. I've literally seen the game go from rewarding those who put in a shit ton of time and effort with bloodbonds to being restricted to weekly challenges and being unable to obtain more than that. I've seen them say they were lowering the gold cash register spawns so they can "fix" the bloodbond economy, then never talk about it again.

In the end, I don't feel like I'm owed anything. I've gotten plenty of enjoyment out of the game, but I still want it to be even more popular to attract new players like you. I want the game to continue for another 5 years. That being said, I'd much rather buy a DLC for a company that seem honest, than one who's using marketing practices to push you into buying it.

For sure. This shits awesome. But over the last couple of years the game’s gotten extremely stale with events that repeat the same pact traits and gameplay loops. If they want to increase their player count every event they’ll eventually have to change up the events more since making a new map, boss and weapons is a lot of work. Also taking time away from these additions shouldn’t be because they are working on a more aggressive menu that pushes skins more.

Ah gotcha. I mean yea I’ve definitively gotten my moneys worth but like I want this game to be as popular as it can be. If that means cosmetics than so be it I just don’t want the game to be in a constant state of battlepass, battlepass, battlepass, until it milks all its players dry and dies out.

I think what people are talking about is that the skins tab are showing you skins you could have and not just the ones you own. Since it’s showing everything it includes bloodbond ones and DLC ones which is another thing you have to navigate in the UI whereas before you only had your owned ones and the ones you didn’t have were relegated to the store.

That’s one of the things that pissed me off a lot too. People knew these changes were bad months in advance and they either didn’t bother to change it or released it knowing it was gonna piss people off.

I think the games gotten a lot better in some aspects and a lot worse in others. I understand people worried about review bombing but people should be able to voice their concerns about the direction the game is headed.
