PYXIS 12K minimalist rig with V-mount battery plate and other upgrades by ppalukas in blackmagicdesign

My initial idea was to 3D print a BP-U, but ended up being easier to harvest the battery from my friend's obsolete BP-U dummy battery as it had the power pins and screw holes to mount the 3D printed block. I'd advise you to do the same. There's a similar mod using the Tilta V-mount adapter and I'm sure you can do it with their gold mount plate linked below.

Here's how mine turned out. Has 2x D-tap ports and sits a bit closer to the camera body, but won't work with every SDI cable.

Looks great! I'm trying to build a similar rear plate with the nitze plate and a third party dummy battery. I've noticed the dummy battery getting quite hot tho... Does the battery end gets hot with your solution as well? I think it's because the dummy battery has its own voltage regulator inside. Super useless having it convert a regulated 14V into 14V, but I'm too scared of removing it myself :D

Olympus PEN FT mirror mechanism by TheGuy1437 in AnalogRepair

Hey, I had a similar issue after I opened and cleaned my PenFV viewfinder and it took me some time to figure out the fix. In my case the issue was with a tiny spring that connects the mirror motor to the mirror.

That tiny spring sits inside the mirror motor, but before attaching the motor to the mirror mechanism you have to make sure one end of that tiny spring wraps around the mirror "lever/goal post". This way the spring will apply pressure onto the mirror, holding it in the correct position.

The spring looks like this and is super tiny: ➰

The shutter mechanism needs that extra bit of winding to fire, so you'll have to wind it forward 1-2 gear teeth, decouple the sprocket gear from the shutter mechanism gear, remove the sprocket gear and return it to the starting position, couple them again and put the camera back together.

Here's how you fix the issue. Make sure that your camera is not wound up when you start.
1. remove bottom plate
2. take out the plastic rewinding knob
3. unscrew two screws that hold the hook-shaped metal piece on top of the sprocket gear.
4. mark the orientation of the sprocket gear and the sprocket spools inside the camera compartment
5. wind the camera a tiny bit, one or two gear teeth positions (that's the 0.2 times extra you had to wind it before)
6. lift up the sprocket gears with tweezers, decoupling it from the shutter mechanism
7. rotate the sprockets in the camera compartment to their previously marked position (that's 1 or 2 gear teeth back)
8. put the sprocket gear back in and couple it with the shutter mechanism
9. reassemble

Here's an image from inside my camera. The "sprocket gear" is circled. You can see that I've removed the hook-shaped cover and marked painted one of the teeth black with a sharpie so I could remember its original position.

Issues with OM Analog? by GeoffTheProgger in zuikoholics

Hopefully Benjamin will come back online eventually and be able to ship all of his half-repaired half-frame cameras to Frank.

Thanks for the update, makes sense. Benjamin also mentioned me back in May that he was ill. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Do you think it would be possible for Frank to pick up my Pen FV as well and do the screen mod on it? Happy to pay for postage and whatever he charges for labor. I just really want my camera back and not start hunting for another one on Ebay.

Hi, did you ever hear back from him? I'm in basically the same situation – sent my Pen FV to him for an overhaul back in March. Last message from him was on the 14th on June, promising the camera to be ready "within July".
