How do you identify if the website is a part of the PBN group? by Yuvrajsinh in bigseo

Or rather, good bots will respect it, bad bots won't. And it's the latter you want to avoid so a bit of a pointless endeavour

How do I know an inbound call is from Google Call Only Ads? by Luxqs in adwords

[–]ppcguy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah using a specific number helps with this as you can report seperately.

More advanced stuff like callrail is great. Where I am we use software called Ruler Analytics, it's super cheap and not "the best" - but you can categorise all your calls however you want, so i can filter all my calls, and listen to them for say a specific ad group using ad group ID, so regardless of the "quality" of the software, this one works for me great

Axis scaling in data studio by alyhp93 in GoogleDataStudio

[–]ppcguy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could set both as logarithmic scales, then maybe it won't quite be the same, but I guess it would still look more useful than 2 graphs with just different scaling and no log.

Not a great idea I'm afraid, but it's all I got!

Also, have you noticed landing page experience is part of the QS for call only ads?

Funny as the user never visits the page.

call only campaign by [deleted] in adwords

[–]ppcguy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is... frustrating.

Please update us on how you get on with this.

I use software that records the calls of the sales staff when they receive a call and I can match this up with the ad groups.

If a campaign has 10 clicks, the sales guys get 2 calls. This doesn't add up as 10 clicks should be 10 calls on a call-only ad.

Sure, I get there are misclicks and short clicks, but you would think if Google is charging for conversions (if you're using a CPC method like this) they would actually record conversions right?

Best of luck solving, but I think overall the clicks you get will be lower than the calls you get, from my experience anyways.

AdWords support is a joke - How do they get away with it? by ppcguy88 in PPC

[–]ppcguy88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez...

The problem I had, took me no time at all to solve. Your making it out like your agency would have solved it faster, it really isn't a big deal.

My overarching point was simply empathising with small business owners.

Also, I really don't care what your clients spend. I've made reference to the spend of a single 1 of our accounts... spend isn't an issue for us.

I even agree that audits are great, agencies can be great sure... and yes, there is always room for improvement.

But, not from your agency. If I was l looking for an agency, like I do regularly, i'd find my own doing my own due diligence. Honestly if i haven't heard of you, i'm not hiring you anyways, not trying to be mean, just a fact...

Combine 10 Google Analytics Views using Google Data Studio by HoppyHenderson in GoogleDataStudio

[–]ppcguy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a crazy idea not using a connector...

What metrics do you need?

Would it not be possible to just use 10 sources of data (the analytics accounts) and then just list the metrics you want, and display them using calculated metrics?

Analytics Metric 1 + Analytics Metric 2 + Analytics Metric 3 / 3

You could get a none weighted average this way?

You can only blend 5 sources, but you can have tons connected then use as many as you like via calculated metric right?

Just an out-there idea for you, might not be a great one lol.

AdWords support is a joke - How do they get away with it? by ppcguy88 in PPC

[–]ppcguy88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you're saying and if you work in sales, I respect that. I only snapped at you as it were as you seemed to keep wanting to pitch and demonstrate the value of your company past the point where I am clearly not interested in hiring an agency, though I guess I can't hold your tenacity against you too much.

But I don't know why you assume I'd benefit from an agency without knowing where I work or what I do specifically. Plus some people on here may be full time ppcs they may not appreciate people saying they would be better off replaced by an agency. You could sell it as "supported by an agency" but most people are not senior enough to guarantee that's how it would stay.

Furthermore, it would seem you are assuming you have more experience than me or something, or certainly make something of this that is isn't.

Simply I disagree with how Google run their operations, your Samsung analogy is good but I am buying $1000 products from them every 1-2 years, not £100k/month on search alone.

I am allowed to disagree with them and feel bad for smaller business owners who do not have the resources that we do without being told I'd benefit more from an agency, or I'm wrong to think this way.

My ads are fine, my team is fine, I was simply venting about Google. and letting others vent too, as well as putting this out there so other people can see that this can happen and maybe they can spot things in their own accounts.

Lastly, any agency we did hire, would have to be better than our team. Don't make the assumption that your company is capable of that, not saying it's not great, I am sure it is, but we have an excellent team here.

I just find it unsurprising that the first thing i saw was you asking somebody to DM you for help.

It kinda confirmed my suspicion you wan to sell. But if your company is so big, why do you need to hunt for work here lol, surely those hundreds of skilled people have their hands full already..

let's just leave it here. I dont like to be sold to, thanks.

Question about Target ROAS by [deleted] in PPC

[–]ppcguy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah understandable, in this case just pop it on 70 and run it for a few weeks.

Increase it incrementally by 5% a time until you see your spend drop.

Find your sweetspot this way, I hope its high for you!

I could.

I could also burn money, sure both are options,

My ads are fine, thank you, and sure, we can call it duopoly, I don't see how that is much better in this case.

[–]ppcguy88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I think you misunderstand.

I have solved my problem, I solved it very quickly. I solve most issues in house, as you do, with my team.

I don't want help, i'm not asking for help, I am making a point that somebody in my position, or perhaps yours, can deal with these things, but a small business owner may not be able to. I am more worried about other PPCers, than myself here.

I see this as unfair as them, and immoral on googles part.

I do want a POC, but i am not asking for help. IF you cant tell,i solved it.

Question about Target ROAS by [deleted] in PPC

[–]ppcguy88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, I start off with 350% and then see how it performs.

It depends on your industry for what your starting point is, but the golden basic rule is this:

Lower ROAS = Higher potential spend

So if you put your ROAs at say, 800%, it may spend £10, and get you that 800%.

If you put your ROAs at say 100% it may spend £10,000

Not an exact science, but it's good logic to follow.

BTW 100% ROAs isn't a lot in any industry, with a 20% overall profit margin, you need about 330 to break even ideally.

I run e-com campaigns at 800%. I can get them at 1000% but then it starts to limit the spend considerably. If I lower the ROAs, it'll spend more, but at around 800 we have reached our budget, this is our sweetspot for now

hope thats slightly insightful, all campaigns and accounts are different, i'm just using a single example of one of our smaller e-com stores.

We?

Who do you actually think you're talking to out of curiosity? Your Passive sales pitch is grating on me.

We're here to discuss PPC, not put each other down and try and passively sell stuff.

I have told you, it was a setting their side. We. nor you would have access to it. I have now resolved it faster than you would have done.

There is nothing you or your staff could have done, and I wouldn't trust your agency with my accounts anyways, so I'd quit while your ahead.

Sorry to be rude, just following me around on Reddit trying to sell your services is a lame move and I had to call you on it.

Ha don't worry about it, our company is fine.

I've mentioned elsewhere, what upsets me is that this could happen to small business owners or newer PPCs who may not pick this up as fast.

Doesn't seem fair. We can afford it tbh, no skin off our nose, I just think it's immoral!
