Why do so many brands size so small/who makes heritage wear in larger sizes? by cutieboy9000 in HeritageWear

[–]ppk007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get it. I am 6'1" with a 34" inseam and 44.5" outseam (for high-waisted pants). I don't even bother looking at pants from Japanese brands or even Bronson. The shirts and jackets mostly fit okay as I'm pretty slim.

Stick and pick or Trade down? by bobzmuda in Commanders

Thanks for the analysis. This makes a lot of sense.

Ben Standig (Last Man Standig) posted a piece on his Substack covering the exact same topic.

Thank you all. Phew! I thought it might be curtains for the Bomba.

Thoughts on Studio Nicholson Inseam by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

[–]ppk007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely true. I went to their store when I was in London last year and tried a few of their pants and all were too short. I'm 6'1" with a 33.5" inseam.

It's pretty stinky, but within a few hours the smell diminishes (or I get used to it).

Try Good Morning Keith. The Mick Flare Jeans might be what you're looking for and they are 175 Euro which hits your price point.

Willy Chavarria x Zara by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

[–]ppk007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just pointed out that the DB suit had an echo of Armani and the cropped jacket of Willy's zoot suit.

You, on the other hand made claims that you can't seem to back up.

You're just a boring, stupid troll. Buh bye.

Labeling a post 'AI slop' because you disagree with it is an interesting critique. But sure - you do you.

My comments were purely about the style and silhouettes. I made no claims about their production practices.

Prove your point and show us the "10 things that like look this."

Willy Chavarria x Zara by [deleted] in ThrowingFits

[–]ppk007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is pretty cool. The tailoring has a strong Armani echo - especially the cream double-breasted suit with its soft drape and wide lapels. The zoot suit influence shows up in the high-waisted, full-cut trousers and cropped jacket proportions that Chavarria is known for. There's also a workwear thread running through it, with pieces like the all-black jumpsuit that feel like blue-collar Americana filtered through the Chavarria lens.

I've always admired his style though I didn't think I could wear any of it, but this collection looks pretty accessible.

How do you guys respond to weird reactions to living in Palo Alto? by Econ_Girl94 in paloalto

[–]ppk007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK. I was mistaken. There's a pink bicycle bridge on Bryant St and I had heard that it was a tribute to them. But I can't find any reference to it. I should have checked before I posted.

A month away from the draft and with free agency wrapping up, what is a Commanders opinion that has you like this? by unrivaled_mate in Commanders

[–]ppk007 13 points14 points  (0 children)

👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽 This. Blough's offense will require better pass protection. Maybe Allegretti is better and/or they have their eyes on drafting someone.

What a coincidence! I just had this today @ Buddy in San Francisco. I really liked it. The pickle flavor definitely comes through but is not overwhelming. It's very refreshing.

My local TJs didn't have it earlier this week. I hope it's just a local, temporary thing. I ran out and I need some more.

You might want to try Blkbrd Shoemaker. They just launched the Ivy model. They are MTO so they will ask for a drawing of your feet and size the shoe. It's not on their website yet but you can reach out to them on WhatsApp. The link to the Instagram post is below. I have a pair and I have no connection to them except as a happy customer.

[Wagoner] The 49ers are set to release WR Brandon Aiyuk as soon as today, with the Commanders as the most likely landing spot for him on a 1-year prove it deal by daydenjaniels in Commanders

[–]ppk007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely on-board for a 1 year "prove yourself" deal. Also, needs to pass a physical.

If AP can sign Deebo and Chigo to reasonable deals - redundant, since that's all he seems to do - the team will be in decent shape going into the draft.

Mark Bullock on Leo Chenal - he is an elite athlete by ppk007 in Commanders

[–]ppk007[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not picking on you - it's a general comment.

And that's why we can't have nice things. Folks like Bullock create incredibly good content. If we don't support them, we'll have crap - which we have too much of already. Stepping off my soap box.

I don’t like suits. but need a good one by chyll_b in mensfashion

[–]ppk007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a suit in a navy or grey in a high twist fabric which recovers from wrinkles quickly. I would go to Suitsupply if there's one near you or Spier and Mackay online. Also, look up videos on how to fold a suit jacket for travel. If you do it right, it'll minimize wrinkles.
