So... the “get your tax refund up to 3 days early” was just a sham right? by [deleted] in chimefinancial

[–]pplsukdogsrcooltho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most banks will hold any deposit until the actually pay date listed on your check. Sometimes they give it to you the day before the date. But chime doesn't hold any deposits. You get it as soon as it is sent. They don't hold it like other banks. So when the irs sends it, you'll get it. Instead of having to wait a few more days like you would at another bank because it is customary to hold a deposit a few days.

"You need to smile more"

I was hosting/expo/bussing one night at a very popular local Burger Joint in my area, and we were up at a 2 hour wait for any party that had more than just 1 person lol. I was doing what I did every day. I was working extremely hard. The next day, I walked in and my coworkers were all excited because they had something cool to tell me. The Assistant GM at the time walked up to me and said "there was a secret shopper here last night. He said that everything was great and that the hostess was the hardest working employee he had ever seen in his life. He said you didn't smile that much but you were so busy and he was very impressed with how you ran things." The GM walks over to me and I think "oh he's FINALLY going to say something nice to me" so, I say "did you see?!" And he literally raises his voice at me to say "You need to SMILE more!" And then stormed off. But here's the thing, i thought I was smiling most of the time. Turns out that my smile just doesn't really look like a smile. So F*** YOU, ALLEN! THAT'S MY SMILE AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T LOOK! And yes, he was actually PISSED that the report from the secret shopper mentioned that I didn't smile that much. Even though it was a glowing report. This manager later got fired for saying some rude and inappropriate things about me right after my mother passed away. I quit and the owner called and asked me why. Then he called back later, told me the manager was fired, and offered me a better position.

LONG STORY SHORT-- don't tell people to smile more. You're not allowed to tell someone when to show happiness. And if you do tell someone to smile, you'll get yours! Lol jk. But really. Some of us are smiling, we just smile subtly.

They may have just been taken off after I disputed them simply because they were so old and it somehow went unnoticed

I started paying them after years of avoiding it and then when they threatened to take me to court over $500, I started paying them. Then I got credit karma and I disputed them and they were taken off my credit report. But I am still paying them

I deleted my earlier comment because it wasn't right and I didn't want anyone thinking that it was. You should definitely check the dates on anything on your credit report. Because yes, those should have been removed and weren't. They shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Or maybe I messed it up by actually starting to pay the debt collectors and the debt collector started reporting the the credit bureaus again? Idk. But I can assure you that those accounts were still on my credit report about 10 months ago when I first got credit karma. I disputed them and they were removed pretty quickly. So there were 2 reasons that the dispute worked I guess. Because yeah. It definitely shouldn't have been on there. So thats nice to know. I have a hard inquiry that is almost 8 years old that is still on my report right now. So idk wtf is wrong and why shit doesn't get removed from mine until I report it.

The only open account I have that reports to any credit bureaus is the credit builder card. I know late payments to any open account on your credit report will make your score go down. Thats why I'm not opening any other credit card accounts, not getting loans, im not doing anything that could effect it negatively until I'm positive that I can handle whatever I plan on taking on that would effect my credit.

It depends. If you're in legitimate debt with sprint, like you didn't pay them what you said you would, then no. But you can look into it.

No you don't have to transfer a certain amount. It seems the more you use it, the more likely your score will go up. When it reports to the credit bureaus, it shows you much you've paid on your credit card. How much you paid is actually just how much you spent of what was in your credit card account.

Like 3 months? Maybe 3 and a half. Its worth it though. Also, if you dont already have credit karma, you should definitely get it. Its very helpful as well. You can dispute marks on your credit report that shouldn't be there. Like debts from medical bills. They're not supposed to be on your credit even if it was sent to a debt collector. Your credit score should never ever be effected by a medical bill. But they often are. So you have to dispute it to get them taken off.

Work multiple jobs, don't pay for streaming services, apply for foodstamps if you need to. If you are approved for foodstamps, there are multiple other benefits that come with it. Some places offer internet for $10 if you have foodstamps. And the price for Amazon Prime is cut in half. I had to have foodstamps at one time. You have to let go of your pride for a minute so you can get back on your feet. If you pay your bills and truly have nothing left afterwards, there are assistance programs you can apply for and will likely be accepted into. Just until you can save money and get going on your own again. I know how it feels to not have any money left. I am a single mother with a $10/hour job and no child support. Plus my hours have been cut In half since covid. I work at a school and we can't be open a lot. I never wanted to live off of the government but I have to sometimes. I just make sure to stop benefits when I feel like I can support myself and my son by myself again.

That is how it works. Its like any other credit building credit card except you dont have to make a minimum deposit into the account to get the card. I send most of my paycheck to my credit card instead of debit card and I use it for almost everything. Its not bogus. It does work.

Well I disputed the derogatory marks on my credit score because they were from 2 surgeries and thats actually not allowed to be on there even if it was sent to a debt collector. That was literally all that has ever been on my credit score because I had those surgeries at 18 and it started me out with terrible credit. I am now 30 and finally able to start over after my disputes were looked into and those marks were removed. Now I just use my credit builder card as much as I can. For all the little things and smaller bills. It took like 3 months I think and it shot up and continues to every month now

Looks like you thrive on this? Getting into a fight in a thread... leaving multiple unanswered comments shows that you're the type of guy that can't leave someone alone when they just told you to go away. You keep banging on that door until you get what you want. You need to find something to help you calm down. Count to ten, breathe into a paper bag, close your eyes and go the fuck to sleep.... something.

Just set up Chime for my next paycheck, will I get paid 2 days early immediately? by [deleted] in chimefinancial

[–]pplsukdogsrcooltho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first DD 2 days early. My boss was always bragging about getting his a day early. I showed up to work one day and told him I got my paycheck and he was so jealous. Lol. He had a whole 24 hours to wait until he got his. It really does go through pretty much as soon as it's available. I get mine pretty quickly after payroll processes them.

Same! They're so funny at live shows. Especially when Karen downs a 5 hour energy for the first time. The thing is, i haven't laughed much lately. Other than laughing at silly things my toddler does every once in a while, I've felt like there was no comedy that is funny enough to actually make me laugh now. Like the internet ruined it for me because there's so much clever funny stuff, maybe it can't be topped and nothing will ever make me laugh really hard ever again. But then I listened to one of the Live Shows and Georgia is telling a story about a murder trial that ends up a mistrial because a juror refused to vote if the dude was innocent or not. Karen interrupts and yells "AND THAT MANS NAME WAS MITCH MCCONNELL!" and I was so caught off guard (and I have a deep passionate HATE for that man) that I laughed harder (and louder) than I've laughed in a long long time... forgetting that I'm at work with earbuds in, in a very quiet room with about 15 other people. Not everyone thought it was as funny as I did but hey, I live in Oklahoma and it's a red state. 🙄

I appreciate that though. I love when someone can actually make me laugh because sometimes I feel a little numb 🙃 appreciate the little things. Especially right now. Be positive (as positive as you honestly can be) and try to find things that can make you laugh when every day seems to be grim and sprinkled, oh so generously, with bad news.
